losi 8ight 2.0 rtr thermal telemetry
probably a dumb question but should i trust the stock thermal guage for temp or my odonell temp guage? cause when my losi guage reads 300 my odonell is reading 240.....

RE: losi 8ight 2.0 rtr thermal telemetry
make sure your sensor is installed between the 3rd & 4th fins on the heatsink, and that it is in there good and snug. you should get the most accurate reading there...

RE: losi 8ight 2.0 rtr thermal telemetry
How can the Losi telemetry sensor be reading something hotter than it really is? It doesn't make sense to me.
|
RE: losi 8ight 2.0 rtr thermal telemetry
well all the sensor is is a basic thermistor, if installed in the incorrect position on the cooling heard it will misread the temperature as it will pick up exhaust heat, etc... IR temp gauges read the engine temperature at the glowplug, not the crankcase, or the cooling head alone so in order to get your most accurate temp reading from the thermistor (sensor) it too needs to be reading from the top of the glowplug to be accurate. in the case of the Mach 454 that is between the 3rd and 4th fins on the heatsink...

RE: losi 8ight 2.0 rtr thermal telemetry
ORIGINAL: chaserogesr14 ive seen both, I believe they are te best rtr race vehicles on the market I believe so as well. But as a person who's only had a couple of monster trucks for bashing, I'm wondering which of the two would be better for an entry level racer. My LHS is pushing me towards the truggy on the premise that it's wider stance makes it handle a track better for a noob. But then he works on commission and would love for me to buy the more exensive one too! I lean towards the buggy as that's what I see more of at my track and I want to stay in the more popular class but I don't want to have a harder to drive vehicle and get discouraged. |
RE: losi 8ight 2.0 rtr thermal telemetry
I would say definately go with what has more of a following at your track if your really just want to race. It would be a shame to buy a truggy and not do much racing because the track can't fill your class.
I wanted the buggy originally but went with the 8t because of the amount of truggies running at the track. Either way you will have a blast racing Zach |
