Need help on what to buy

Hi, im new to thetruggy scene.. I do fly rc planes but since i started going to the dunes ive been looking at truggys and think they could be a ton of fun, but i dont want to buy something that breaks right away. Im looking at spending 300 up to the upper 500 im looking for something RTR. I was looking at the HPI Firestorm.. But really would appreciate some advice on whats good Sand truggy that will handle getting launched off dunes and if whats the first thing that breaks on them? Thans in advance

the HPI firestorm is a good basher but it is 1/10 scale and they are more likely to breaking and if you decide to race ever then not many places have 1/10th scale racing. IMO, i think you would have better luck with the jammin x2 RTR, the Team Associated RC8T RTR, or the Kyosho Inferno ST RTR.

If you want feedback on the Firestorm, check out the stadium truck section. It's a totally different animal than a truggy. Truggies are 4WD and 1/8 scale. The Firestorm, like was said, is 1/10 scale and only 2WD. For $500 you can indeed get a decent RTR truggy like the X2, whcih will be much more durable...

not 100% true. Truggies are 4wd and have a center diff
Jammin .5 CRT is a truggie and is 1/12th scale

agree though goto the ST section there are 2 other posts asking about the firestorm or other suggestions in the past few days you might want to read

XTM XST! For the money....u cant go wrong! If u live near a Hobby People parts are easy to come by...if not u can shop there online. u can get an rtr for $350 or so...not the best choice if ur racing but for bashing itll do fine...also chek into a set of paddle tires if ur gonna run it in sand! good luck
