CLUTCH EATER
IM LOOKING INTO THE FIORONI/ OPTION TEAM TURBO TWIN. MY TRUCK KEEPS EATING CLUTCHES/BEARINGS. THE USUAL 3 SHOE ALUM.SHOES I GET ONE WHOLE AFTERNOON AT THE TRACK AND I HAVE TO CHANGE BEARINGS OR SHOES ALL TOGETHER.I.E. HEAT BUILD UP. THE ONLY THING IS IT HAS A 35MM FLYWHEEL AND IM NOT SURE IF IT WILL MEET MY WHEEL(BUMP). I HAVE MODDED ALX1 TO A TRUGGY( I DIDNT JUST SWAP WHEELS EITHER)SHE HAS TMAXX 3.3 FRNT AND REAR ASSEMBLIES AND A OFNA CTR SPOOL=NO CTR DIFF. PLEASE HELP .

what springs are you running?? also run dynamite max life shoes, im getting 8+ gallons out of mine. also do NOT run mugen clutch springs, they are junk, i have had 4 out of 4 sets break and they wont last threw all 3 quals.

What size springs are you using? If you're getting alot of heat, that usually means the shoes are slipping, which means they're not engaging, which means you probably need a thinner springs?

when is the last time you replaced the springs??? if its been a while you need to replace those. i have done that before and didnt replace them and i fried a set of clutches because they were always engaged.

what do you guys think about the fioroni sliding clutches? thats my next step I really like those clutches because i have one on my lst2 .Its not a fioroni , its a power up bidirectional(sliding) clutch and it works pretty nice.

Fioroni clutches are supposed to last a very long time. I've never used them personally but one of the local guys raves about 'em and I've read the same thing elsewhere...

ORDERED MY NEW SLIDING CLUTCH SYSTEM FROM FIORONI I GOT THE TURBO TWIN CARBON WILL LET ME KNOW. WISH ME LUCK.

seems like you could be overgeared. that could be causing the extra stress on your clutch

CLUTCHBELL 12-15 AND MAIN GEAR 46 THINK SO.?

i coudnt tell ya. you say you have a frankenstein drivetrain. i would keep it down around 12-13 on the clutch bell for a while just to make sure that new clutch dosnt get roasted.

Make sure that your clutchbell is not shimmed too tight. Should be a bit of play.

I got the clutch/new bell and bearings on and it meets my bump box wheel nicely. All is good in NJ. wish it was a little earlier I would take her out.got work in the a.m.:(</p> |

Ran two tanks and the clutch grabbed very hard. So I say for all u truggy owners out there find the version that fits your truck.:D</p> |
