There was a long post in PC groups on a guys testing some Russin made systems with FW190 modules . INcrdible results but nothing turn key or simple as a "turn key kit "
The problem seems to be the inconsistancy in systems , and weight and cost of the total package . the one on RC Groups that is part of a long post was upwards $459.
That is a big price tag for engine sound , unless your building a scale maserpiece but it is more turn key them the typical car system

the bendini system, with a merlin at all stages, start up, tick over, throttle back, etc, plus a VERY good machine gun sound, with all that goes with it, speakers and all, was £100, that would be $150 in U.S. lingo, this was fitted to one of our hurricanes, why pay more? and your link doens t work for me either

I have the Bendini system in my gaint scale top flight P-51 I'm finishing up
I'm very impressed with the sound. My is also a gaint scale electric. I mounted the speaker in the bottom of the wing and made covers for them. It gives a great start up sound, idle and machine guns. It's good and loud you can feel the deep tones in your chest. The high RPM isn't that great but that doesn't matter all all to me, with a 21x14 prop spining at 9000 rpm mixed with the sound system it's going to be unreal! I can't wait

here is my test video in the shop:

also an idea of how my prop will sound with out the sound system, so imagine them together :

my build thread,I need to update it I'm futher along now, I have been updating more on the other site:

Thanks Paul
I can't wait to get it done, I have dreamed about a sound system for many years so this is going to be a blast!

its quite simple actually, attach the 4 speaker wire connectors, one for the battery, and just put inline...pretty damn easy..

well done Benedini!

Casey

Hey Ron, you just use pos2 for the mg correct? (assign to switch)

Yep real easy to wire..
I think the only hard part is going to get the throttle points set where as the plane starts to move the sound moves up also to look right.
I remeber Greg Covey wired in a switch just for this reason instead of useing the jumper to set points... I'm going to do the same thing.

Hey Ron, you just use pos 3 for the mg correct? (assign to switch)
I put mine on the trainer switch, so it's just on or off and spring loaded for scraffing runs

I'm going to solder a push bottom switch on the LRN tabs (the tabs you bridge to set the throttle points) I don't plan on useing the programming cable, so a small button will allow me to fine tune the throttle points at the field until it's just right. Greg Convey did this with his P-51 and it looked to work well. I'm sure I'll only need it for the first few flights then it's set. But it will make the job easy.
They tell you not to solder to these tabs, but I'm going too like Greg did. Your sounds good Casey the speaker box will make a huge differance... that's what I found with mine.
Much better in the wing , then when I tried in on the bench

so where are you placeing your speakers? How or where do they recommend you put the speakers?
Makeing a speaker box is the best option, or useing the wing as a speaker box like I did. I think the bottom of the wing is the easiest if you have space and the wing is a perfect speaker box.
I figured that would save the weight of a box, and with the speaker pointing down on the outside of the plane it will be louder than muffled my a cowl.
