Default AIRWORLD SPAD XIII build thread

I just recently aquired a 1/4 scale Airworld Spad XIII all composite kit. I don't know anything about the kit, other than it came from Germany in 07 and sold to a John Houlihan.
I can't seem to find any kind of a build thread on this plane at all. If anyone has any info on this plane , please chime in...

It is the same size as the Balsa USA 1/4 scale kit. It is very strong (heavy). It has the simulated metal on the fuse, with fabric looking wings and fuse.
I did not know where to start, so I started with the nose first.

I installed a 1/2 inch firewall in the fuse first. Then I installed the cowl. I had several engines laying around, but chose a Zenoa G-62 for power. Mainly to swing a 24-8 Zoar prop for size. I know that prop will be too big for that motor, but I will have plenty of extra power to waste. I want the Scale size prop for looks. I figure to get about 6000 rpm's out of the motor with that prop, plus I think I will need nose weight. So far, I have a Bennett muffler just barely sticking out of the bottom directly on the center line. The carb fits completly in the cowl, but I chose to go with a velocity stack to keep the excess fuel outside the plane.
right now, I plan on building the plane and do a balance check before I install the servo's. I don't plan on using any lead.

I think the all up weight to come in at around 22 -24 pounds. If anyone has one of these, I would like to see what engines they used for power. Let me know what you think.

Here are a few pics to start.

I can't see it from here but is there an exit for the cylinder head cooling air? Dan.

Have not figured air flow out yet. I might cut a hole right behind the head and let the air flow through the fuse and out the cockpit hole. I have no instructions.

From eagledancer's link, click on the english version, then look along the left side and click on the "I. C. Powered Aircraft" link. You'll then see much more beyond jets.
