I have moved indoors and taken over the dinning roomand made it into aworkshop as it is too cold outside in the garage to build. The P 47is on hold for now so Ive started this build last night.
Ziroli SBD Dauntless, the kit is from Belair kit cutters and i must say very nice laser work and excellent grade wood. This kit goes together very fast with the great use of interlocking parts, today i will make the crutch to keep the fuselage straight.

Ahhhhh........just like Kersul's living room, balsa dust on the curtains etc. The only thing missing is the fan to lift the fuse into. Knew it would come to this. Well, happy building. I'm sure it will come out great. One day we may deal with that Lanc. Meanwhile, Francis has pickled the 47 so it will be around when you come to the states (home). See ya.........Doug

Well I'm back to work also on the Dauntless.
I have built the flaps and dive breaks, the horizontal stab and elevators are also built. The vertical fin issheeted and the rudder is built up ready for some some scale detail and fabric.
I worked on the air passages on the outer wings, using 3/32 light ply they came out nice. I have sheeted the top surfaces on the outer wing panels and the center section, they are now ready to be plumbed.I also installed the landing gear rails with Aero poxi and installed theRobart landing gear. I went with the Robart gear as i cannot wait for the Sierra gear as nice as it is need to get this plane up and running.
I also have the cockpit from Dynamic balsa must say very nice stuff a lot of parts so will be building that at night while watching TV. Also bought a Trumpeter 1/32 scale plastic model for detail and paint scheme working on that.

Some Moore Pictures.
Many thanks to Brian at Dynamic Balsa for getting this cockpit kit to me so fast, i am really looking forward to putting it together. I Had such joy in building the last cockpit for my Tempest and it got rave reviews from th judges and other pilots around the flying events.
I will send pics as i build this cockpit.

Hi Folks.
After a lot of requests from friends and rc universe community usersI'm back posting on this great site. It is a little difficult as with the time difference when i want to upload pics i can only do 2 at a time when America is on the Internet we run slow here in the UK. You can follow all the building i have been doing the past year on www.nortwestwarbirds.webs.com and please join our site its a great place for us to see what you guys in the States are doing and what were doing over here.
I am posting a few pics for now on here but will keep you up to date on the progress of the dauntless and other projects every few days. I'm happy to say business is booming and the planes are getting bigger, their are a lot of very large planes over here so looking for a bigger buildingworkshop soon miss my old one at Dougs.
Well please stay tuned.

Have some very nice strong bombs from Fighter aces her in the UK not like the flimsy ones you normally see these will take a drop from 100 ft.
For this project i have decided as i see others have and it seams to be the motor of choice for this plane Ive gone with the Zenoha gt 80.
I have also built a Trumpeter 1 3/2 scale model with great cockpit detail for reference to building the Dynamic balsa cockpit i have for this project.

The engine, dummy engine and static prop are together and in primer just figuring out the inner cowl ring to mount the cowl. The fuse for the dauntless is plumed, control surfaces in and primed ready for panel lines. As i was saying i need to move to bigger workshop in the backgroundare customer projects,a 120" Nomad twin and on top of that the fuse to a 1/4 scale corsair, me garage is looking small lol.

By the looks of it, you are going to need a gymnasium for all that stuff. I'm sure the new shed has security and a compressor for the air tools. If you get slow you can do cars,LOL. Enjoy it, but you're always welcome back at Meisterland S E ..............Doug
