Default ESM P-39

Hey just though I would put up a couple pic's of the New ESM P-39.. I did not realize how big the cockpit area would be on this plane. The canopy is almost as big as the T-28.. My 7 y/o daughter is for size reference.

Ty,

Just ordered one from Tomas today. What are you doing with the cocklit kit? Will you make me a door

Great model....and the plane too

Looks like I can get the batteries above the nose wheel behind the firewall?

Is it me or does that plane look just like an F-80?

I can see you and EDF setup.... Not sure on the working doors ... I would have to make the cockpit tub out of fiberglass so to mold/glue to the sides better...

Hey guys like I have said before make sure you go over the plane completely upon receipt. My box had some pretty big holes in it but nothing damaged...The fuse is the exact length of the box so could be crushed a little if shoved real hard against something in transit....

Ty,

No worries

Looks like a hatch could be cut in behind the firewall to get batteries in/out. Can you make a rear-view mirror for the cockpit too

I would install the batteries up through the nose wheel opening.. No hatch needed..There is plenty of room to get your hand in there...

It doesn't look wide enough for the size batteries I use. I am using two 6S 5000 mah packs. They are 146 mm x 53 mm x 53 mm. Do you think they will fit in?

The wheel opening is 60mm or 2-3/8" wide and plenty long...

.This plane is dear to my heart. It was my first warbird kit that i built and flew. The original Topflite kit.
Glad to see and meet others that feel that way as well.

awesome warbird.. Chuck Yeager said " at a 100ft, nothing can beat a P-39 ". the Russians loved them,
P-400, P-39, & even gave bell input which led to the P-63 KingCobra. mostly used on the manchurian
front against the japs.. but theres rumors they used a few on the eastern front as well.

Ty,

Mine is on the way as soon as the gear arrives for it. I will definately do a build thread on it once it gets here. I have one plance ahead of it at this time, but may put that on hold to get the P-39 in the air. I need to give some old planes away first

Too many planes not enough time.

Signing on cause I'm really interested in this one. They stole my trim scheme, tho, the Bums. (Pun intended) I doubt if the prototype is still in the Army colors anymore, as it's in Duxford collection of the Imperial War Museum.

Jeff: Mine's the Wing Manufacturing short kit. $40 for a pair of foam wing cores, the plastic scale bits, and a blueprint. Power is a Rimfire 25 outrunner. It honks.

Well, a little bad news. I just heard from "ArfPro's" and while they have the plane in stock, they do not have the spinner! I think I'll wait until the next batch so I can get them together. I'm just picky, picky, picky!

Happy Flying!

Casey,

I am fortunate to have a good job and understanding wife

We both are doing well in our careers and can afford some nice toys at this time.

I am looking for a Sist kit too This is a birthday / bonus gift for me. I got a nice bonus for working my *** off this year. Most goes into my daughter's college fund, but a little for fun

How's your P-47 going? I have mine almost ready to paint

Brooklyn Bum is now with Rod Lewis in Texas and, as far as I know, is still painted in the same markings. Good to have it back on this side of the pond and I'm really hoping to see it at an airshow in the near future.
