Tailwheel seems more hassle than it should be with “if your arms are long enough you can reach the front tailwheel mount screws through the wing saddle”. Then there’s the servo cables to deal with….can’t handle that either. So, I’ll just cut a hatch, like I did the aileron servo hatches.

unless you are reinforcing the area with fiber, I would not be cutting such large areas of the fuse. The composite skin has tremendous strength but that is based on a continuous whole surface. The airframe is incredibly well engineered. You might need to work around some challenging areas, but no one else is having to chop things up FWIW ...

This has been my project for the last couple of years. Happy to report that I completed the maiden yesterday, and all went well. CARF P-47 with Moki 250, Model Masters paints, and my trusty JR 12X for guidance. Need to thank all my scale modeling buddies for help and advice along the way, but especially Julian Mashburn , the Moki Doctor, for tirelessly answering my endless questions, Greg Wright for lots of advice as well, Wilson Li for what I consider to be the state of the art in scale pilot figures, and Nigel Wagstaff of Flightline Graphics for the most complete and detailed set of markings I have seen yet for the '47. Greg Thomas, (Growler) has also been a huge help to me along the way.

Look back on this thread and you will see quite a few posts that explain the alignment. The fit is so tight with the Moki that, in a nutshell, the engine will only fit in one place and still clear the cowling all the way around.
Again, lots of pictures from several guys that will help you a bit further back on this thread.
Keep up the good work !!
Regards-Mike O.
