I don't think I've ever had a flameout with a gasser except for the time I ran the tank dry

My DLE 30 already has a rear exhaust

Thanks Mike.

I think that probably has happened to all of us at one time or another.

I have three DLE 20 engines one in a Hanger 9 Hellcat and one in a Top Flight 60 size Mustang. More than enough power. I helped a club member test fly a CMP 72" w/s Me 109 with a DLE 20. Plenty of power and only the plug boot potrudes from the bottom of the 109's tight cowling. For a larger ESM P-47 (72"w/s) of another club member a DLE 30 was plenty. I've been happy with the DLEs. Light weight, start easy, tune easy and so far very dependable as long as there is enough cooling and no fuel stoppage.

Thanks RBean,

I looked through the manual today. Seems very thorough and well written.

Hey Minn,

Are you sure about that? I just got a reply from DLE support saying "Thank you for your recent email. No, it is only side exhaust. We don't recommend rotating the head either."

Also, the tower link you provide looks like SE to me. Do you mean the carb placement? I'm talking about the exhaustwhere the muffler attaches.

Ooops, my mistake, I thought you meant rear CARB

No, you can't rotate the head, that would screw up the porting

But you CAN get a wrap-around muffler for it

Thanks Minn,

Yeah, I've seen that J-Tec make a pitts style for it. That would be the way to go.

Thanks!
