Default Good wing bag for a 1/5 sclae P-51?

I have a TF P-51 RTC (84" span) and need a good wing bag. I haven't had any luck with my initial searches. Anyone know a good source?

Take a look at Hobby-Pak, http://www.hobby-pak.com/indexmain.htm

I'm using the WBS04 for my Top Flite wing, just fits.

A cheap alternative: Take an old bed quilt or comforter, cut it up and sew a few bags out of it.

I need one too, I have the same plane and wing, I saw the same wing-bag from the site you listed; you say "it just fits"; what do you mean: it's a tight fit, hard to close the bag after the wing is in, no extra room; which just fits: the length or the width?

Appreciate your help, post a picture would be great.

Doug.

Doug, the wing does fit comfortably. The bag/zipper close fine. The TF Flite P-51 wing is 84.5" in length and the wing bag is 85", so you have 1/2 inch left over. Plenty of room on the width.

I like the idea of an old comforter or blanket, I have done that in the past.

When are they going to be sitting out in the sun??

Wamart sells lightly padded quilt materail,, if you're handy with a sewing machine you can make you own custom bgs pretty easy

You might also look at those thick shipping blankets, they are sort of quilted, and reasonably priced.. It might be tough to sew them. But I actually used hog rings once to sort of sew the edges together, and it worked pretty well, and went very fast. Small zip ties could work well also. Unfortunately the average person doesn't have a machine that will stitch them up !
