I also have a Seidel 7-77. If it fits I think it would be a great match.
Someone needs to start a "TF ARF Giant Scale Corsair Assembly Thread". Or keep this one going.

Dimensionally it sounds like it will just fit that radial but cooling will have to be sorted out of course. Make those cowl flaps work and it might be all it needs.
I'm just looking to make this one a weekend warrior for the first season. Maybe if I like it enough I'll do some work to it to make it more scale and detailed. First thing though I might go ahead and paint the 3 color scheme right over the top of the dark blue covering. We shall see!

Finally had some time to open the box to check out the plane. All I can say is it is awesome! TF has once again delivered a high quality product, not a flaw that I could see anywhere. The covering was wrinkle free and the sanding job under it was top notch. In my opinion TF reaches a higher bar of quality with each new kit released. The packaging was done to perfection, to minimize damage. Anyone that was thinking about ordering one should just do it, it is absolutely beautiful!!

Glad to hear all is well. One reason I stick with Top-Flite products. They make sure all is right before they deliver and have great customer service after the sale.

I am glad they Keep making (+) changes to these planes (as Topflite makes the ARF versions of there kits)
The only downside to all those changes INCREASING price....
I paid 380$ for my Topflite p51 ARF shipped, and that was before the 40$ discount!...
Ahhh the good old days!....
I have a TF stagger wing that I contemplated placing a saito 325 but the cowl tapers at the nose, and these radials
do not have much of prop shaft... So I would have to do some massaging to the cowl....
The ARF Corsair barely would fit my saito radial 5-cyl....the Sedel would not fit at all...
It is a bit bigger...

I was thinking of my Seidel radial.. 7 cylinder. thank you. I'll look at the tech tips on the TF web site.

I also received mine yesterday. So naturally I glued it together with spit to see what it looks like. I too am impressed. One of the things I noticed in the Top-Flite Photos is the low slung tail wheel. It looks totally unnatural so I extended the pivot rod and converted it to electric using a lado retract unit from a spare retract I had. The wheel is the one supplied by Top-Flite and I will replace it with a larger one thus helping it even more. I talked to Robart and they have an electric conversion coming out for the mains. I plan on doing the conversion. They said it would be ready in 30 days-?. The cowl color is off but I have a fiberglass Specialties one for the Top-Flite kit and I will see if it will work.
I'm sure the balsa scale builders will stick their noses up, point and laugh but hey this will be an all around excellent looking and flying corsair. A first class giant scale aircraft!!!!

Yes, I noticed that the cowls off Hibico planes haven't matched to the monocote recently...
I believe it is due to poor Q&A at the Monokote facility...
The Cub Yellow is waYYYYY off with the last 2 rolls that it doesn't even come close to the original color on my cap 580 monocote...
Same with my Reacto bipe .60 size.... or 1.20 size...(up for debate) as I used a 20cc engine it it.)

So mine arrived today. To my surprise it came on a small pallet. Total shipping weight was 68lbs! The kit box is 38lbs and the pallet alone was 30!
They shrink wrapped it to the pallet without any vertical strap so it was just kind of flopping on top of there.
Im not sure but if possible call them up to see if this is how it will come to you. Maybe you can avoid extra charges, who knows?

Mine came double boxed, no pallet. When it arrived my wife put it on a picnic table in the breezeway. While nobody was looking our 80 lb German Sheppard pup (11 mo. old) decided to see what was in the box. Somehow he pulled it off the table and it dropped 3 feet to the ground. He then proceeded to tear it apart bite by bite. Fortunately my wife stopped him before he got to the inside. I was sure there would be some damage but it was well packed and everything was fine.
Once in a while I do get lucky!

HI all. Glad to see there is a thread going on this model! Got mine about a week ago. Unpacked and not a blemish I have noticed yet. Cowl looks good too. Very Nice! We have two of them in the works in our club that I know of so far. Both will have DLE-55s. The info we got is that the Robart electric retracts should be available mid-June. Robart had them set up and was able to demo them to us at Toledo. The good news is that it appears the price difference between the e-retracts and the pnuematic is going to be resonable too. Look forward to the info yet to come here. Happy building!
