Following with great interest. I'm considering giving the LA-7 a try myself.

Missed the engine size in your first post. I was too distracted by the pictures! If the Ziroli canopy is the right size, that would be a great backup or replacement.
A Gt 80 might be a little heavier and be smoother running since its a twin. Just a thought.

Few shots of the maiden.. CG @ 190 mm seamed tail heavy (pitch senistive).Lost a wheel (either forgot to tighten or not enouht ),iand dorked the landing , removing the landing gear . Over all when I get the CG worked out it will become a daily flyer . In the future I WILL either put a drop of lock tite ,or E6000 on all bolts ,set screws(Grubs)....As with a large gas engine it sure VIBRATES .......

Looks really sweet. Is that the stock canopy? It looks good in the pictures.

Uncljoe,

Thanks for posting this thread... I've got a Moki 150 and have been looking for the right airframe. With all the nose weight you added, this SBD might be the right choice.

Now that you have a few months on it, how does it fly, and how would you rate the airframe?

It flys OK, but the landing gear SUCK.... IMO,The kit is a "SPLASH" of either a ziroli or bates 100 " SBD" No where top gun scale but carries a good profile . I would just install Robart gear even though they are about $ 700 for all the stuff needed. My DA 85 seems to pruduce MASSIVE vibration and have to tighten every bolt after every flight, don't know how much the DA 150 will produce, hopefully half as much

Thanks...the Moki doesn't vibrate much at all, but I guess I'll pass on the Easytiger planes.. everyone has a lukewarm review of them.

Will the wheels still fit in the gear wells if you turn the axels around so that the tires are in the scale position WRT the struts?

Maj.Tomski
NO ! Retract housing has the strut (trunden) on out board edge, if you want the scale look you would have go with Robart or Serria

Anyone bought/built one of these lately? I'm think about getting one and converting it to an A-24.

New retracts 100% fit into the wheel bay. Control box is made by JP and new rubber wheels.
