They look nice. What was the cost?
$110 for both struts & $ $290 for the elec retracts BUT Robart is currently running 10% off + Free Shipping, or Towerhobbies has those $40-$60 off coupuns depending what ur total purchase is

Keep an eye on your motor tabs. Generally it is a really bad idea to mount a da 50 as you have it. The tabs will crack and break off. It is just a matter of time. If you want vibration dampening mout a piece of ply with the dampeners to the fuse then mount the the motor to the plywood with shorter standoffs.

The one thing I disliked about the WM zero was the shiny olive drab paint scheme. Can you confirm the ESM 80" wingspan and the cowl diameter? Thanks!
Sorry to hear about your mishap on your WM.
the ws for this ESM is 88.8" and the cowl dimension is a post above

the covering and paint on this is flat. I added some more detail with detailing pen and shot Flat Clear to protect it from fuel and dirt.

Its flat porous surface atract dirt and soot from exhaust like CRAZY!!

Mike, Normal circuit theory does not apply at 2.4 Gigahertz. Any RFI at that frequency will go zipping past that choke as if it’s not there. Dan.

That's Dan, I didn't know that and Im a Ham operator. So ignition pulses will not penetrate a 2.4ghz freq sys? Did I understand that right? That will be a welcomed part of the hobby.

I have one of these on order, keep up the good work!
I am planning to use a G-62 on mine and I am hoping it all fits in the cowling.

Mike, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I’m still not up to speed with RCUs” new format. It looks like they went through, what we used to call at work, a “catastrophic improvement”. That’s when you take something that is working perfectly well and improve it until it’s worse than before. I was not getting the threads I was subscribed to or the forums. Back to your issue of torroids. Since you are a ham, you are well aware of the difference between 50 Megahertz and 2.4 Gigahertz. Because of the short wavelength at 2.4 Gig, about five inches, resistors, capacitors, inductors and all other types of electronic components are not subject to normal circuit theory. Your use of a choke will probably not buy you anything at 2.4 Gig, the only frequency that you should be concerned with. The main source of RFI is the arc across the spark plug gap. It could contain RF components at 2.4 that could be radiated or even conducted back to the receiver. That’s what you have to watch out for. You also know that there is no such thing as a radio frequency device that is immune from radio frequency interference. Some are better than others but don’t bet on it. Always follow you RC manufacturers’ advice diligently when installing your system. Dan.

Hello Mark! Yeah I made it back. I've just been busy getting the kids settled in school, and trying to figure out the idiots method of packing....oh wait that was me...lol.

I'll try to give you a call this week, I'd like to see about joining the Birds of Paradise club! When's the best time to get a hold of you?

Mike,

Shes looking good! If you have a question about rivets or panel lines, I'd be happy to answer it if I can. So ask away.

Casey

Thanks Dan! Appreciate the insight.
Ill make sure Ill do numerous ground checks for static/RFI.
