You engine should turn this. The blades are wide though my YS 120 will run it on YS2020 fuel.

Just maidened a few days ago. Slow bringing throttle up and plentof rtrudder and a little rt aileron until speed up. Lands like a dream. Balanced 1\4 to 3\8 forward of manual spc. Very pleased. Not much prop clearance so the 16" is likely better and on order. It's at 11k static now so !managing throttle is necessary. Got the idea from seeing same model w aSaito 200 and 15" 4 blade APC. It flew awesome. So stuck a170 YS in it. Tight fit but it fit. The APC posted a notice not to use the 4 blade w the 170/175 due to over-reving and possible prop failure. The Biela works and looks good too. Needless to say.... I am happy w it. I just wish they made a 16x10 or 11. It's speed is good but would be better.
Also ported the scoop to an added radiator door and added a modified train whistle. The YS would up gives a nice 'whine' but the whistle starts sounding off at higher speeds sounding pretty close to The full scale supercharger.

Please forgive any touch screen typos on a tablet operated by an ole guy. LOL

Dwayne, Thanks for the post about the Pagen. It was a good flying plane. Would be perfect for some Classic Pattern.

I also built a Pagen to fly pattern back in the early 70s. I tried to make it look as close as possible to Ron Chigdy's (sp?) Triger Tails. Had a Logitrol in it also. And a Supre Tirge .60 Bluehead I think. Logitrol was the only radio I flew until I stopped flying around 1981. I never had a failure with the Logitrol unless a wire broke. People today don't believe me when I tell them I could fly the Logitrol with the antenna completely collapsed down without fear of losing signal no matter how far out or down the runway I would fly. When I started back about 6 years ago bought a Futaba. It's a good radio also. Brings back great memories. I believe I may have met you, perhaps at the Nats in Louisiana 1977 or 78.

Please include me in The brotherhood. I am a new pilot still training, and am fortunate to have a beautiful P 51 with retracts in my hanger. It's still outside my experience level to fly solo yet, but SOON ! Thank you!

Does anyone have the mounting pylons for the wing tanks/bombs on Aero-works P-51? Anyone have them sitting around and want to part with them? I have the tanks but nothing else. I can order them from AW but they're spendy.

Thanks,

Jack

Jack,

I am working with an individual to develop bomb pylons and drop tanks (75 gallon) for the Top Flite Giant scale. They will be droppable, which is why I chose not to go with Aeroworks. They are still in development and I am not sure how long it will be, but if you can wait I will be sure to post on here when they are ready.

I'm finishing up my Top Flite 1/5 P-51B conversion from the P-51D ARF. Need to find someone that sells the Nomenclature for the B Model. I see that Aeroloft and ProMark both sell the P-51D dry rub-off transfers for about $65.00. Does anybody know if there is someone selling the dry rub-off transfers for the 1/5 TF P-51B and what the price might be? Also does anybody have a preference between Aeroloft or ProMark?
Thanks

No one has "B" specific stuff. Either you will have to make it yourself or you get "D" stuff and use what you can try: http://www.iflytailies.com/store/decals/

OK I'm sorry if I step on anyone's toes but what I have done is I have gone thru every single post starting from number 1 post and went thru all the posts so as it goes I have cleaned up the number so some of you will have to adjust your number accordingly even me because there were several occasions that lancairmustang assigned a number twice. I keep track of numbers on a Ultra Sport brother hood well taken over keeping track since the gentlemen that started that forum passed away and I took it upon myself to maintain the numbers on that post. Everyone is of course welcome to join all that is asked that you take the next number that is available in the list and put that number in your signature. I assigned a number to the person that asked for a number so that is where and how I have this current number list is at now but remember the list is based on where you appeared in the forum and asked for a number and you got that number that was next available. Welcome to the P-51 Mustang Brotherhood.

I would check that list again, think you missed some. Can't go by who asked and who didn't because a bunch did not ask to join, and clearly wanted to. Four out of the first 6 didn't ask, and the fifth started the thread.

What can I say 70 ragtop I went thru every single post one by one and based on the ones that did ask for a number and the ones that lancairmustang gave a number to and then the ones that did ask for a number up until he didn't want to maintain and then I went thru and cleaned up and that is how I got the number list, but if you feel I made a mistake you can copy and paste the list in your next post and make a highlight or some kind of marker showing how or where I missed or a mistake that I made im only human and I got bored and went thru every post and made that list so if I did a boo boo then by all means I can fix just help me find it and lets get it fixed.

No worries.
I made quick list early on and realized I made a mistake, so I went thru it again and attached a revised list to post 129. Since a 1/3 of the posts at that point did not ask to join, and it seamed obvious most wanted to, I just decided that if they posted, I gave them a number....maybe that was wrong.
I figured the subject would come up again, so when I made the list, I added what post # they were added, and if they asked to join. You can find the list on post 129.

Thanks for stepping in for lancairmustang
