Hmm, giving serious thought to coming to this event this year. Haven't been yet, looks like a great flying site.

Just got back home from the Indiana Warbird Campaign in Muncie. Had a great time with all my friends. Now we have one more
great event before the leaves start changing. I hope to see you there!

That is an old Birdi (Bridi?) kit. And features Robart Radials and retracts. Flown and Built by Dennis Crooks. Fantastic bird!

Less than a week and I can't wait for Elkhart. The weather is looking PEEEERfect. Everyone that is coming in on Thursday don't forget our get together at Wings ETC. Thursday nite.

I also had a great time . . . a lot of interesting aircraft to watch.... and a great Fri night pilot dinner, in the hanger, with the Stearman and a Cessna 195! NICE!

Our planes on the pit area, witha few others as well.

Ok. Sorry for the delay on the reporting, but I'm just getting back at it!

Day one report (Thursday) -
Light winds SSW, right down the runway, about 30 pilots got there early for set-up and light flying. We made a few adjustments this year to the field and I think they were a big hit. (more on that later).
5 TV stations did reporting, and a few of the guys got on TV. Jim Repp, was one of the interviews and did a GREAT job representing the hobby and the event!

Here are a few photos to get things started. Photo Credit; Michael Cox.

Thanks to Chuck, Lee, RJ and all the folks who put on this event. It was a great time last year, and this year was even better (maybe because I won the Stearman ride?). Nah, this is just a great event. See you next year!

Thanks JQ I have a great time time telling everyone what to do on the flight line, LOL. By the way have you wiped the smile off of your face yet? That would be a hard job to do!!!

Day Two Report:
Flying started at 9am and ended with a 5:30 Air Show. Since this event is held at a full scale airport, attracting spectators is now problem but getting them during the day is, so we did an evening airshow and it worked out perfect. Once flying wrapped up, it was off to dinner held at the airport FOB. A full catered dinner, cash bar, music and good ol' bench flying was happening. As mentioned above, Jeff Q won the Stearmen ride. For those who don't know, every pre-registered pilot before Sept 1. earns a chance for a FREE ride in a PT-17. The drawing is held Friday night at the dinner and the ride is the next day. Pretty sweet deal. Also, any pilot that was registered and came to the dinner had a chance to win a FREE Balsa USA WW1 kit of their choice (Except the Albatros) John Howe won that kit and will put it to good use! And finally, We raffled of a 1 in 40 chance to win a FREE ride in a full scale P-51 that will be at the Elkhart Airport the following weekend. Karl Womack won that chance.

Flight picks from the show below, others coming soon.

Day 3 Report;
Nice weather in the morning but storms threatened in the afternoon. The crowd came out in force to see these guys fly and they did! My hats off to all the pilots. The winds got tough in the afternoon but we got it in. Here are some shots from Saturday. More coming soon as the photographers get them to me.

As mentioned earlier, Jeff Q won the Free ride in the PT-17. We opened the airshow with a fly by or two with Jeff in the front seat. I think is was well pleased
