Default Inching towards finishing my Nosen P51

Sachs 4.2, Electric Robart retracts, fabric covered, acrylic painted.... some small things to finish, the paint , exhaust headers etc...and triple checking everything that powers and controls the mechanics on board.

Can anyone tell me does this plane typically need a LOT to balance? I have not really attempted a honest balance yet.. I am waiting until its painted and the spinner and prop is on. However I have never heard if the Nosen P51 typically is tail heavy off the board...?...

How about some BEFORE pictures !

I have a slight detour....... waiting on an airbrush needle and tip.. and a friend crashed a 50cc 3d plane he needs fixed for an upcoming event.. I normally don't do repairs for others but he is going to help me out with some wiring issues in the house so it works out great for the both of us

I will say one thing that Nosen is tough to move around and work on.. I am going to need to build a foam carrier for the fuse soon as I won't always have my van/shop seat around to use ! hahahahahha

Here we are panel lines no airbrushing ...

This is after some brown and black shading...

and finally some white airbrushing.. the white never looks right in the pics..its always MUCH brighter than in person.

The green streaking is simply from painting the wings with acrylic hobby paint ( front to back) with a 1 inch wide foam brush. I left it transparent and never had a consistent opaque coat on it..

I finally got my Nosen Mustang stand built.. it has a way to go..permanent padding etc. BUT

It allowed me to flip this monster over and put a little dirt on the bottom with the airbrush.. I didn't go crazy.. just something to break up all that flat grey.

here are a couple before pics.. you can see some grunge on the side from when I did the top of the plane.

And here are a few after shots.

I haven't cleared yet but that hardly changes anything.

I LOVE low stress landings !

I am getting down to small detail work and getting it balanced, I am both anxious and wanting to make sure I cross my T's and Dot my I's !

For some reason I can't seem to get the exhaust stack motivation yet .... I will probably just use some aluminum tubing.

I should go out and spray some clear on it now so it can be dry tomorrow.
