It seems to be the new RCU format and I hate it!

Yes, it's totally annoying. I installed an ad blocker for IE and it took care of the problem. NO MORE ADS!

Agree, when the adds start popping in the thread replays, it's gone too far.

Got this from one of the RCU monitors. Dan.

Dan,
Those ads are part of the Google Ad Service our parent company is affiliated with. The picture is unfortunately a bit misleading, as is the habit of a lot of companies.

We have alerted our IT staff to determine if there is a way to filter some of these from the site as you are not the only person to question their proper placement on an RC site.

Thank you,
John

The adds are annoying, I hate them too. They are showing up as if they are part of the top post of any thread I look at.
Please do something.

Yeah, it's absolutely annoying and shouldn't be allowed.

Get rid of them.

I just saw one for a russian dating site.
A bit inappropriate for a "family" friendly website.

Cruise suggestions, and who gathers all this we are just trying to help you crap? Google, grrrrrrrrrrrr so, be carefull what you shop for, for google adds will ram it down your throat, you can get rid, by pressing the ad tab, and opting out, but its never permanent, Google adds are ruining the met, but, its big, big money, and they dont give a damn

Might be the nail in the coffin that ruins RCU. I have seen a very noticeable drop in traffic since they "popped up". For the last couple weeks, I've been able to check all the new posts in my favorite forums in about 1/2 the time I normally spend here. And I have been spending less time here as well.

Notice there are NO pop ads in the Classified section.. So it's a choice that RCU is making.. to their peril.

Another thing they need to fix is their for sale site.. I bought 3 items in the last month and have not received any thing yet.
one of the problems is you will not get any e mail notices of what is going on . if you do get one it will be 5 days before you get it. Been a real pain.

I will agree on the market place concerns. I have won several items and did not know . Sellers were upset and I lost those items......

Hi,

Don't worry, they'll be introducing a new subscription-based version of RCU sans the ads very soon. Annoy you now, charge you later.

LazeeAce, thank-you for the info, it works great, no more pop-up ads and it's free to down load! A bonus to have for free since most of the time we are nickle & dimed to death on BS charges!!
