Are you making a new one from an old one or just replacing the one your missing?

Replace the lost one would be the prefference but cant locate one. If somebody had a pair in 4.75" same as I have I'd certainly buy the pair.

Alternative is to get a set of Sierra in 4.5" size, still waiting on Darrell to get back to me.

thanks

I know what you mean, I have a set I used on a TF P-51 and they look better than anything out right now, still!
Might take a look at Robarts machined wheels if you haven't already.

Another option, take your wheel have it scanned or drawn and then printed. A foundry can cast a wheel set for you. Lots of work but doable.

I did look at the robarts but they no longer do a scale P51 style wheel. It is the same slots on both sides.

I'll give Darrell a call in a few weeks.

As for foundry idea or getting CNC done elsewhere anything is pobble however the real sticking point it the mold for the tyres. No one has one for 4.75". Aerotech did but no one knows where the mods went to.

Darrell can do me scale wheels in 4.5" which will be ok.

Short on $$ at the moment and not in a hurry as I have other planes to fly.

cheers

An update on this.
Got a pair of Sierra 4.5" wheels, they are alot thinner but not as scale.

Sooooo after the long lost wheel sitting out in a paddock of long grass for over two years amongst the brown snakes the lost wheel was found!11 Not by me but the owner of one of the clubs I go to, came up in his very pommy accent. "I got a fing surprise for you and think this belongs to you!"

Yes!! Still in perfect condtion, just needed a new brass bush which was worn anyway. Orignal wheels are back on the model and its waiting to be flown again. Delayed as the engine is vanished nd I'm waiting on a newishST2500 to arrive. I'll de-varnish the old engine and keep as a spare

Happy days
