Default help with sheeting a giant scale warbird.

Looking for help, suggestions etc for the easist way to sheet the bottom half of a large fuse. Never done anything this big before. If I do this in one sheet it will be 50" long and 24" wide at the fornt and 8" wide at the tail. Thinking perhaps to do this in two pieces.
Thinking will need to angle join most of the sheeting.

Thanks for your help!

You can do it in many narrow strips and then sand and fill to smooth out. Managing a large sheet can be done but tricky. Maybe 3 sheets, one per side. But, hand cutting many long narrow strips helps you control the contour easily and quickly.

Chris,

Thank you for this information. After considering it and thinking about this some more going to do this in 4 sheets. There will be a seam at the very bottom. Then try to get those two sheets around the bulk of the bottom and onto the fuse sides. At that point the structure should be stable enough to remove form the board and finish each side piece.

Regards,

John

looks like 2 smaller sheets for the side, 1 triangular sheet for bottom with the use of strips around the tight curvature on both sides. Strips work really, very strong , Cut them with slight wedge shape, custom sand to fit. Fill with lightweight spackling and sand.

I have forgotten, what will this project be?

Windex, soak the sheets, tape or rubber band in place till dry. This will conform them to shape needed. Then glue in place with your favorite ZAP. I like to do one sheet at a time. Very little fill needed.
