I would, but I have a Mustang to finish and a P38 to do not long after. Trying to get parts to finish the mustang has past a headache to being a thorn in my side...
Then there's the wife's planes to be built....Not sure if I'll have time to fly until 2030...lol

Given this plane like many others are not available in the US I feel your pain. Essentially my FW is complete and has the best gear! Add an engine, servos and radio gear go fly this spring!

Finally ready to balance and get it ready to fly.

where did you guys find the best balance point? And what did you set your throws at?

mine has a Moki 180 in it and boy the tail seems heavy. Hope I donít need nose weight to balance.

thanks

Start at the factory CG and then you can move it back a little at a time.

You can see from the airframe marks where I am. and it can go aft a bit more. I think I started at over 4+ pounds.
Zenoah GT-80 installed

I have a Saito FG 90 with Ramoser var. prop, plenty of power.
Concerning CG, I used the factory settings, works great for me.
I also added some extra weight, about 100gr but I put it into the center of the spinner.

Anyone making the spinner fan here in the US? I’d like to order one if so.
The new UMS 150 5cyl arrived and we checked its diameter in the cowl. Looks good and fits fine. I’ll have to make some careful cuts to clear the exhaust pipes and not hack up the cowl.

Way off nose heavy, had the same with mine and Moki 180. Moved the CG 20-25mm aft of reccomended (will try even more this season) and a total different plane now. You can more or less on all videos see that as soon as the throttle are oulled to ide it has a har tendensy to drop nose and the wheels hit the ground and makes a bounch. With original CG it is more or less impossible to flare back abnd make a threepointer

Default TopRCModel FW-190

I just received my TopRCModel FW-190 and would like to know if anyone with the plane has electric retracts? I would like to see pictures of the installation of the tail retract.

Thanks.

Thanks for the link and info. Itís says itís for use with the TopFlite FW spinner. Is there a version for the TopRC spinner? We have both 2 and 3 blade spinners for it so we donít need to buy another one.

if you mean the TopRC electric retracts then Iíd suggest exchanging them for Sierra GS air or an electric conversion. The air tail retract is very straight forward to install.

Hi Reverend:
Are you still making the fans for the TopRCModel FW190?

If so, would like to purchase one.

Thanks,
Bigfoot2

Possibly, I have a set of new Electrons but honestly Iíd rather run and good air system to keep the points of failure to a minimum.

He has been doing some parts for me including the fan and is also prototyping a scale tail wheel. He moved house back in Jan and haven't been able to get in contact with him since then. I know he is VERY busy with work.
I'll be giving him a call later this week.
