Very sad. I don't think there is anything that can replace SolarTex.

First Super Coverite stopped being produced, then Monokote did something they won't admit to that lowered the workability, now Solarfilm. I do use Sig Koverall but do miss the simplicity of Super Coverite, never was a big fan of Solarfilm but did use it. In a recent order from Tony Clark I included a roll of Proficover https://www.toni-clark.com/index_en.htm to give it a try. I just put the roll on the shelf but I just may open it up and check it out to see if I need to order more.

Light weight Dacron is the ticket. Have not used Solartex since I found the stuff. About 1/8th the cost.

Hey Vertical Grimmace,

How do you use Dacron and were do you get it from?

Is there a certain weight or spec we look for when ordering ?

FULL WIDTH DACRON FABRIC 1.9 OZ from Aircraft Spruce

Can be used as peel ply as well for those who fiberglass. Apply with balsarite, stix it or other fabric glues. Shrinks with heat just like Solartex. Seal with Polycrylic or dope.

1/4 Fokker tripe I covered with it. Do the math on the dimensions, and you will see it is cheap and offers excellent yield.

Oh, nevermind on the Fokker pic. They changed how to post pics. Don't know how to do it now
