Sept 27-29: Bluegrass flyin at Elzsabeth, Indiana at Rosewood club.
Miles: 150.
A 800' paved plus 200' runoff of grass at each end plus parallel grass runway.
This is the last of the warbird alliance shows (total 7) for the year.
As mentioned, before, it's great to have 7 large scale warbirds and classic flyins to go to in the midwest where minimum runway is 800', storage tent provided and anywhere from 50 to 150 pilots in attendance.
I was lucky enough to attend 6 of them.

While at Bluegrass, I picked up a 'built up' Ziroli F4U corsair.
Today, the Robart 150Z retracts arrived.
Normally, I never buy a kit/plane without the retracts but I figured robart would have the Z F4U's in stock.
Unusual, in that the builder made a 3 piece wing.

Sam,
I finally found your 2018 tour. Very cool. Thanks.
Good to see you have another Corsair. Hope to see it at the CARDS WAC event early June.
Looks like the Bluegrass WAC event was nice.
Can you tell me which way the Bluegrass field faced, and what direction the winds were blowing?
Frank, the boys, and I, were in Streator IL, and we had cold windy weather all 3 days. Crosswinds all 3 days.
Friday night got down to 37 degrees when I started the Van to warm up.
No crashes, but limited flying because of the weather.
Regards
Gary Stephens

Sam,
It was great to see you again and visit for a few minutes at the Bluegrass WAC. I really hope you will build another CARF Corsair. I hope to make a few more events next year so we can spend some time flying together. Enjoying all of your photos - Tim Evans

Sam,
Well that explains why you picked up the Ziroli Corsair; I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your CARF one; what happened and where did this happen at; did the moki survive?
You planning on getting another one; I see you have a couple of your twins up for sale in the ad section, beautiful planes; if I had the cash I would swoop up the black widow; I followed your build on that plane and know it was done right; best of luck on your sale.
