Those look great Jiri! Thank you Sir! Oh the pinking strips are from dynamic balsa. You can get them in a few different scales.

Been a few but I dove back in this week and with the help of a friend and the input of many, I final got the base plate finished and engine mounted. The upper cowl is ready to mount as well, just finalizing anything my big hands wonít reach once I do. Had to throw her together this evening. Looking forward to final sand and glassing, weíre getting into flying weather here so the build may slow down, but I plan to do various work to her throughout the summer.

Painted up some of JiřŪís(jpwarbirds)parts(throttle quadrant, O2 bottle, chassis controller, and trim wheels) for the cockpit as well. Iíll get more photos once I begin installing the cockpit down the road.

Not quiet to paint yet, but getting there.
Set up my engine this week, ran my throttle/choke/ignition and extended the pulse line into the fuse. Iíll pull the engine for glassing, I just wanted to make sure it was ready to go. Iíll run baffling once I get it hard mounted as well. Also installed my upper cowl. I ran fences along the interior for mounting scale exhaust down the road, I laid them in to get a look at them after a base coat of alclad exhaust manifold paint. Iíll run a few more coats and some detail ďhotĒ white areas on them when Iím in the finishing stages.
I ordered up some flex pipe to run my exhaust out the underside fairing of the vokes filter, this will also act as my hot air exhaust for engine cooling. Also installed my elevator servo hatches aft of the cowl. So next will be attaching the vokes filter, then final sand and should be able to begin glassing here in the next few weeks.

I didnít mean to cause confusion, by scale exhaust I meant scale in that it looks scale(not functioning). As I wrote, Iíll be using twin flex pipes to run my engine exhaust aft as to not butcher my cowl any more than I need to.
Jpwarbirds supplied the 12 fishtail ďscaleĒ exhaust stacks. To my knowledge keleo is/was the only company supplying functional scale exhaust systems, I think ch-ignitions still may sell some of their stuff but I believe most is designed for saito radials.

Was gonna say lol...

I've been told that functioning scale exhaust and 2 cycle engines don't get along so well, too restrictive. I THINK there'd be a way to solve that, but nobody does them any more.

Not much to report lately, but I was able to get my spinner cut. Wasnít terribly difficult using a dremel and a good bitÖ.and a lot of measure thrice, cut onceÖIíll do some final touches before paint but Iím happy with it.
Next will be final sanding on wing and fuse.

With it being flying season Iíve been using any free time that Iíve had flying at the field, but weíve had an insane about of rain this spring so I jumped back into the build.
I picked up some exhaust tube outlets that have a 45 degree elbow so I can pass them out through the rear of the vokes filter, as it would have interfered if brought straight down.
I also installed the filter onto the lower cowl, I still need to open up the rear of it for exhaust air.
Today I worked on my tail fairings, I used a product called pcwoody. Itíll be sand-able within 24 hours, cool stuff to work with.
I also began work on my radiator housings. I picked these up from Jose at Fliteskin Aeroscale. They have a lot of detail molded into the fiberglass and they look great!
I found some screens laying around and built up the radiators this evening. Later I added a rear screen as well and hit it all with aluminum paint, but I forgot to grab a photo of the finished product. Iíll add that tomorrow.

I was able to get my wheel wells in this morning, still have a bit to do along the strut housing, also finished up the radiator interiors. Iíll need to prime and finish the area underneath prior to attaching.

Update, finally able to dive back into the spitfire, the airframe has been glassed, sanded and primed. Iíve got quite a bit more sanding to do then I can get to panel lines, rivets and hatches.

Thumbs up Your photos are a major timesaver

Hi Wyoturbine!
Just received my Spit Mk9c from Rumen (arenít he and Jiri at JP Warbirds great!). Many, many years since I last built a kit (and more years since I built a 13í 3Ē sailing dinghy) and so laying the plans out was essential. The kit is great and the plans are excellent, containing a lot of information. That said, as I looked them over I can see your photos are going ot be a huge time saver - helping map pre-cut parts onto the plan in correct orientations. Thank you for your excellent posts.
