Nice clean install; let me give you a tip; raise the servo for your tailwheel/rudder; if you leave it where it is at the cables will be rubbing against that former to the rear.
Ask me how I know that. LOL

Did anyone use glue on the cowl ring in addition to the screws?

Unfortunately, using an opposed twin has made it necessary to have a long engine stand-off area of 2.600". Everything I read says don't do aluminum pillars that long on a larger engine. Out of the choices of plywood, 1"-1.5" diam. hardwood dowels, hardwood blocks and aluminum mounts like 1" "blazing star" (X 2), any suggestions on which would be preferable? Any other viable options would also be welcome. Thanks guys.

LOL. Thanks for the motivation. I put the tail surfaces on the other day just so I’d feel better about the progress.

The “looming” issue I need to deal with is the UMS 125 that doesn’t fit in the cowl. I know there’s a 150 option but it doesn’t fit my plans for using the 125 on another plane.

paul I’m confused , how does the 150 fit but the 125 doesn’t? I was leaning towards the 100 until I saw the empty weight of someone’s build above and thought maybe 125 would be better. The price differential is manageable IMO but I’m all about minimizing my install headaches.

Have anyone got feedback about the landing gear because I am finish with my build but afraid of the gear because at the top of this forum someone was speaking about the gear will not come up in flight and this is one of my biggest projects yet for the gear to fail,so any feedback will help before I take it out for the maiden

I’m not sure how UMS did it but the 150 is smaller in diameter but longer - this works for the Top RC P47 but I’m planning to run the 125 on a 1/4 scale Beaver on floats. The 150 would be too long for the cowl and the prop would stick way out.

If you haven’t bought anything yet I’d go for the 150….

hi did you had to put a spacer between the prop to keep it from touching the cowl. I'm building the same.
