The intention is for fowler flaps. Structural will be interesting but I'm sure he has a plan..cant wait to see them cycle on the work bench.

Can you/are you going to design Fowler flap hinge mechanisms?

Hi guys , yes we work the last two weeks on this flap mechanism problem , I wrote in interenet many desitions abou the movement of the flap , but at last we made the original constrction as on the real plane . The plans to draw this scheme was to hard but the result is cool I think

The pictures and video of the flap movement
I hope you will like the result

Cheers

HEre is the 3d PRINTED DETAILS , i PRINT THEM TO TRAY HOW WILL WORK ON REALITY It seems work perfect

The idea is to put the drawing of the mechanism in the paper plans of the model , because I can't produce them by aluminium material

Here is the video

Wow that is absolutely amazing! I’m sure a cnc shop could cut the parts from cad or drawing. I may experiment with thick g10. Excellent work.

Default Fowler flaps

Hi Rumen, I am blown away by your work.

I’ve been working on and off on a Ziroli P-38 for over a decade and I’ve never seen such an elegant Fowler flap mechanism. Would it be possible to obtain a dxf or cad file of the mechanism and parts? I would love to replicate this.

Thank you
Kyle

Seriously. Glad I contacted you for this. Not sure if there would have been anyone better suited.

Guys, get your orders in. This one's gonne be a popular kit.

Mine might be the first kit, but doubt will be the first flying. This baby is gonna take some time to get just right.

I assume the Sierra retracts for the 100” yellow p-38 will fit as well? If not, what are you planning to use?
The Yellow had a 106 inch wingspan. So using the retracts for the yellow P38 probably not..scale is a touch off. But, I had spoken with him a while back about adjusting the yellow's to scale for this build and he was agreeable once I had the plans in hand. I reached out to him this week, again, as a heads up that this project had moved forward in the design phsse. Yet to hear back.

Verni at DA assures me his guys can do the the engines for scale counterrotation in January.

He could have done them this week, but I want to wait till Rumen has nailed down the final details on engine size. Don't want to order engines and have the wrong ones.

The vid 9f the flap movement I think, is begger in scale than what will be in the wing. Someone had made a comment about 5 inches of travel..scaled down to actual size in the wing, I think it will be much closer to what a servo can handle. Rumen can correct this if I'm wrong. In either case, there are solutions to every problem ;-)

one possible solution to actuating the flaps. Four of those would do the trick quite well

Default I’m ready to place my order…

Hi guys, I’m very impressed with the workmanship and quality of your kits. Currently I have a large 122” wingspan scale P-38 just delivered and several sets of plans, short kits of the P-38 but now I am eager to order your 1/6 scale version.
Please check your in box, I’ve sent two inquiries so far…lol…
Best Regards,
Gary
