Thought I'd throw my 2 cents worth in about nose weight on the fire wall of the TF Seafury. Here are a few photos of my retract install.
Everything is in the center wing section as close to the CG as I could get it. No connect/disconnect when assembling to fly! The pressure gauge is all that needs to be connected for flight. It's protected by a check valve. I plan on installing either a Thunder Tiger 120 or an os 91 2 stroke and do not want to mess with adding weight!

Thats a great install , I assembled /bashed a WIllshobby seafury , I made some rookie mistakes by -1)not moveing the wing servos as far forward as possible ahead of the CG , mounting the tank as you did in the wing ahead of the CG , and movenig the retracts as far forward as possible , as a result I need a large battery and 16oz of weight , to me that is totally disappointing .
I am now building an FW190 , totally cognisant of the forward movement of everything possible .
You get a ton of responces that say "who cares about adding weight , the real planes had to do so as well " lol , these are models and personally every model I have build with a lighter wing loading as a result of careful building and or careful assembly has flown better , thats it in a nutshell

Has anyone built the TF Sea Fury with a G20 or G26? Will it fit (I know it will have to stick out a bit), and how does it fly?

Nice builds guys, just wondering what the sea fury is like to land? I had a KMP 46 size P-47 years ago and it was very bad at nosing over on landing, don't know if this is a grass strip, or war bird or a problem with that particular model!

cheers

If you guys are still looking for great pics for documenting different paint schemes on ANY airplane, see Bob Banka's website.
His stuff is totally complete and you can enter his documentation with your scale warbird and it will be well received.
No, I'm not an employee or sponsored by them, just a multiple-y satisfied customer.
I've got his Miss America P-51, F-82 and Bearcat photo packs and all are VERY complete!

It's not about the 3-views, its about the PHOTO Packs that one can use to document any scale subject. Just trying to help a fellow modeler that may not know where some resources are.
Also, many of the free 3-views are ok if one is not into scale modeling, but for accuracy many of the freebies aren't even close. Nevermind..........

I know that this an old TF Sea Fury (Gold Edition) thread. I have a question regarding the retracts.

I started building this TF Sea Fury, I'm working on the Centre Wing section, I have noticed that the retracts rails are at an angle. I have a pair of C36 Behotec spring air retracts. I have a choice of different length of struts. My concern is because of the rails angle and the mounting of the retracts, that when they go down the wheels are then at an angle and not looking straight ahead. The retracts TF are recommending do they rotate slightly ?
Will appreciate an answer.

Garthwood.

Hi guys great build (I know im digging this on up from the grave lol). I just ordered a sea fury today and plan on using a saito 1.30 twin for power. Curious if anybody knows of a scale exhaust for this airplane. Thanks
