FW190
Hi,
In the future I want to build a FW190 D9.
Which designer has got the drawings for a scale FW190 D9?
What are the differences about the FW190 A series and the D series are they BIG???
Thanks for the reactions.
Tom

If you go on Google.com or Yahoo.com and enter FW 190 as the search word you will get more hits than you can go through in a day. To save you some time and get you on the right track, here is a link you should look at:[link=http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/fw190jb_1.htm]http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/fw190jb_1.htm[/link]
You can get a lot of kits and plans in any number of sizez, but I think you should look seriously at this one:

PS. Any relation to the F1 driver?

RE: FW190
Tom,
Vailly aviation does not have plans for the D9, only the A5.
Meister Scale has drawings for the D9, be aware that it has a flat bottom wing. This makes them easier to fly. This Dora has a 102" wing span.
http://www.meister-scale.com/
If this doesn't suit you, Top Flite makes a D9 kit that I have seen scaled out and looks great. It is smaller, not sure what size you are looking for.
The difference between the A series and the D series is that they uses different engines that enabled the Germans to slim and lengthen the front end of the plane.

Tom, I started drawing a Fw190D9 in the 1/4.5 scale that works out to about 90.5 inches or 2,30m. It will have foam flying surfaces and Vic will probably mold the fuse if I bug him enough. This size will allow to install the Sierra Precision www.sierraprecison.com main and tail retracts which have scale functioning or if you are in a budget I think Shindin http://www.homestead.com/shindinmachine/ will have a set as well. Let me know if you are interested in this project as build up or foam and glass kit.

RE: FW190
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the reactions.
@Jose: I'm very interested in the FW190 D9 project, myself I was thinking about a 80 inch one, but 90,5 inch, and thanks for the metric one 2,3m would be fine too.
@p-47d-25: Indeed the wing is flat and I wanted to make my planes as scale as possible, but maybe I can use his plans as a reference for the fuse.
If there are more tips, please let me know.
Tom

Hi Wulfman,
That's a very nice FW190 D9 you're building there.
Keep up the good work.
I like the documentation on the first pages.
Did you all found this information on the web?
Would you like to share it with us?
Cheers

RE: FW190
I've got a 1/4 scale 103" Airworld FW-190A3 about half-way done in the pictures. I'm shooting for a 1st flight in late spring. The Airworld FW190 kit has a beautifully detailed (panels lines and rivets) epoxy glass fuse, wings and tail. I'm putting a DA-100 Twin for power in her.
The FW-190A variants have a multitude of markings/colorings compared to the later 190D-9 variants. You have a lot more choices of cool schemes.

RE: FW190
Tom,
The documentation came from books that I have: "Doras of the Galland Circus" by Eagle Editions, "JV44 The Galland Circus" by Robert Forsyth", and the Experten Decals JV44 book. The color chart is from Eagle Editions.
Bearzilla,
I agree that there are more color choices for the 190A, but the Dora has many outstanding color choices available. Especially so, if you appreciate the late war patch-work color schemes.
