Which was the best bomber in the European Campaign during WWII
Since there are several polls on the best of the best of aircraft during WWII, which Bomber do you think changed the tide during the war in the European campaign?

wow thats a toughy. In American Bombers, the B-24 was the unsung hero the '24 was built in twice the numbers of the B-17 and could carry twice the bombload a good 25 to 30 mph faster It was a better airplane but harder to fly. The Brits I'd say the Lanc bore the brunt of the heavies High performance and great load capability It could carry a HUGE bomb load and carry it long disctances. In mediums the mediums were really unsung all the way around. The Martin B-26 Marauder after its initial teething troubles became the "safest bomber" to fly in. It sustained the lowest operational losses of any bomber in the war.
I say there is a 4 way tie here B-17 B-24 Avro Lancaster and Martin B-26 Marauder.

Maybe you should break the bombers into groups by engine. 4 Engines, twin engined mediums, and the single engine bombers, which were almost exclusively dive bombers. It seems that, while all bombers, their missions were vastly different.
