Thanks, Eddie.

If it were me, I'd finish what's already on the bench. In the meantime, you can start accumulating the stuff for your warbird.

Have you decided on the "A" or "D"?

Hi Eddie,

If you're going with the Holman kit, the cowl etc is included.

I'd start with acquiring information on the D 9. The Squadron Signal Walk Around FW 190 D, is a good place to start.

Decide what engine and retracts that you'd like. Start pricing stuff, so you won't be surprised at the total cost. You don't have to buy it all at once, but it does help to have the engine before you start. The firewall may have to be relocated if you choose a gasser. Not hard to do.

For my next D 9, I have all the stuff purchased, or on order. It's nice to not have to stop construction, waiting for components.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

Java,

It's been slow since I painted her.

I painted the markings this wekend. A friend sent me the stencils. Another friend is sizing them to the Dora's scale. She''ll print out the decals when she's done.

I hope to hook up the plumbing to the retracts thus week and get the D9 on her feer for good.

Come on up and take a look for youself!!!

Boy Tom, that really looks so very nice. I like your paint stand too. Great idea.

Have you flown one this size and weight before? An FW-190, I mean. I have recently gotten re-inspired to complete my Platt FW, and while the wing is pretty big, I'm hoping mine won't weigh over seventeen pounds. They really mean Heavy Metal Warbirds, don't they.

Roger,

Ya, they mean "Heavy" metal. I hope to keep mine under 23 pounds. I haven't weighed her since painting, so I don't know where she's at now. I'll post an all up weight when I'm finished.

I've flown my 30# Me 109, but never a large Dora. I'm told the Holman D9 flies well, even at 28#.

I applied my stencils and will start the weathering process this weekend. My spinner is at a machineshop. The backplate is heavy and I'm having it lightened. The machinist will also do the prop cutouts and tap the backplate for the mounting screws.

I hope to have her ready to fly by mid-July.
