Default My own private airshow (P-38, P-51, F-15, F-86, F-117+++++++)

Langley AFB is having thier annual airshow this weekend. Plan on going on Sunday, but get to enjoy it today too! My house is near Langley and the holding pattern for the airshow is right over my neighborhood. I've had a private show of Glacier Girl and a P-51 (Tuskegee Amn scheme) for the last half hour.

I saw the show Saturday, was disappointed that the F-22 Raptor did not fly. After the show, went to the Grate Steak in Norfolk before heading home.

Man, that's cool. I'm dying to see Glacier Girl but I don't think she'll make to Wings Over Houston anytime soon.

Hey gdolboy3, I've seen a few of those air shows myself. Did a cruise on the FID and the SARA. The best show I've ever seen was on the Forrestall(FID) in the IO when a F-4 did a flyby deck level full burners, talk about the hair standing up... I also seen the very first show that the Blue Angels did with the FA-18. Again great, but the F-4 still wins hands down. Did my 20 now I'm here in Texas at CIVLANTFLEET. Thanks for stepping up to the plate and doing what your doing, the US owes you and the many more of you out there doing whats right for the little that you get, both financially and in the way of thanks from John Public. God bless you and the rest of the men and women who have chosen to put our Country first in thier lives.

About 12 years ago, a friend of mine and i were up on the roof of my house re-roofing it. The Blue Angels were in town doing an airshow the next day. We heard a rumbling noise and looked to the east. One of the Blue Angels flew slowly over the house 2 houses down. He couldn't have been more that 30 feet off the roof. He looked right at us. We saluted him and he returned it.
Them suckers is big.

Hey Thank ya Chief. I'm on the Enterprise for about another week. Yep transferring off to a Destoyer. Did 3 and a half years on the Big "E". Made two Arabian Gulf Deployments. Just got in today from my last underway with Enterprise. It's been real and it's been fun, just hasn't been real fun.

I took this at the McDill show in Tampa. It is Crazy Horse in formation. I cant believe they fly together so well. 50 years of technology!

gdolboy3/MR2, welcome back to the landlubber world. I'm sure your time on the Big "E" was soething you will remember. Having been there done that bought the shirt and the hat, I can tell you in all hounesty that most of the time I spent underway was some of the best times I had in the Navy. The mission, the dedication to that end and the crew that is working as a team to make it all happen, man, I miss it. Miss it so bad that I applied to come back in, but seems like there unough of you hard chargers out there that there isn't a need for us old salts. O well, if needed, I'd be there. Are you looking to fly much? I just got into this sport about 6-7 months ago(couldn't aford it as a Sailor) and am loving it. still doing the trainer with a buddy box, but have been adding to the hanger, have a very supportive Wife, both for my hobby addiction and during my time on active duty. Drop a line, and THANKS shipmate!
