special eye glasses
Guys,
Here is a bit I picked up recently.
A guy was having trouble seeing his planes so he had his optometrist make him some special over corrected glasses. They apparently worked pretty well. They no good for reading however.
Back a number of years ago I had trouble seeing color at even short distance. Everything sort of turned grey/black probably from TIG welding aluminum daily. I had some dark glasses made to help this as well as to help out in the bright sun. These worked great for flying and highway driving but were otherwise useless. Not only that, the only frames that were heavy duty enough were the ugliest ever seen.
Since most of our warbirds are blue or gray or other camo it would seem that some image and resolution inhancing would be worth while.
Anybody else tried this???

special eye glasses
Hello,
I had my eye doctor do the same thing for me......give me a prescription that made my eyesight much better then 20/20 at a distance. No good for close-up. Just use that pair for flying. BTW, my long range vision isn't all that bad to begin with......it's just that the insurance allows $300 per calandar year for vision..so use it or lose it. jnkessler
