Default Aerotech P-51 w/ Husky Challenger 2.7

Has anyone flown this engine/airframe combination? I would like to use the gas setup but not if it is not reliable or can't fly the P-51 well. Any info is appreciated.

I have the same setup but have not flown it either. Seventeen years later, have you flown it?

Wondering if either of you have flown this combo and if so how'd it do? Would love pictures of the motor installed if you have them

You might check with Wayne Siewart. I'm sure he is retired now but he has a mountain of info about this plane including competing with it at Top Gun. He designed this model decades ago and I don't think there is a more scale P-51. I recently traded mine for labor to put together a Yellow P-38. You can pm me if you want more details on where the plane is now and who might be flying it.

Use a Da-50 with a prop extension. That is a perfect fit with only the spark plug boot sticking out very little. That is the motor of choice at the end of the production run at Aerotech. That plane will be 34 pounds and that motor will fly it "scale"

Flying "scale" wont keep up with your buddies.

I will

see if I can come up with some pics of mine

How about some video of this bad boy flying. I sold mine before it ever flew.

Mine is flying with a 3W50. Its not a racer but it flies fine. Anyone out there know where the CG is on an Aerotech P-47? Thanks, Dave
