Default Flawless maiden

I just maidened my KMP corsair, Its not as fast as I thought it would be. 13.5 # 72" WS and a OS 1.20 four stroke. very little trim needed just 2 clicks of right aileron. Flew great, took off with very little elevator . Just need to mix aileron and rudder and flap to ele and it should be set...
A flap servo did crap out after the third flight. A GWS high torque.
Question: How far down should the flaps go? Didn't seem to slow the plane much!
What size prop will give the best performance I am using a 16/7 apc Any more advice will be appreciated
Thanks all

Try a 14 x 10 APC. My TF Corsair went ~120 MPH with that prop on an OS 120 FS. Mind you, it's a bit smaller than the KMP, but 7 pitch would definitely seem to be the speed problem.

What kind of rpms are you getting with that OS120? With a 10 pitch prop and assuming 100% efficiency, it would have to be turning 12,672 rpm in the air to get to 120mph...

You might consider a 15x8 first. You will lose pull but gain speed when you decrease dia and increase pitch.

I'm using a 15x8 on my 1.20 4-str and it's a perfect match. Tach's at 8,600 sea level on 10% nitro.

Should be good for 65 - 70mph (400mph scale speed).

I have a KMP Corsair too and I'm using the Magnum 1.200 FS with a 15x8 prop. Works great for me and mine slows to a crawl on landings, got love that!

Did you have to add wieght to the nose of your corsair? Mine needed 30 oz. to balance, that didn't give me a warm and fuzzy on the test flight but it did great.

I am currently running an O.S. 1.20 surpass III in another plane (12.2 lb Marutaka Zero). I use a 15X10 prop and 30% nitro heli-mix fuel. The plane is quite fast but I hesitate to guess at the speed. It has not been radared yet.

I had to make the motor mounts out of solid brass for the added weight! removed the servo tray and slid it all the way forward. Used carbon fiber rods for the push rods. now for the bad news it went down today 7 flights, tip stalled on the 8th. Broke the nose off, fixable though. The plane is weak at the fire wall. I will reinforce before it goes up again, I think about a week or so!!
