Default Sea Fury Colour

Gents
I was wondering if any here could tell me the actual bottom colour of a RN or RCN Sea Fury. I've looked around and most people say light sea grey, medium sea grey, sky, mint beige or light grey. Does anyone have access to an official colour reference?
Many thanks.

Thanks, I'll PM him.
In the mean time here are some pics for your retract project. Also a scan of a British magazine article about the Sea Fury. I hope it helps you.

I don't have the official reference, but Aeromaster's decal sheet (48-712) says Extra Dark Sea Grey for the upper surfaces and Sky for the under surfaces on RN Sea Furies and RCN Dark Sea Grey for upper surfaces and RCN Light Sea Grey for under surfaces on Canadian Sea Furies. Their info comes from Warpaint #16 on the Sea Fury. According to the sheet, RCN Dark Sea Grey = Extra Dark Sea Grey and RCN Light Sea Grey = Medium Sea Grey. The info on the RN Sea Furies agrees with several references I have. The Canadian colors are a little more dependent on the specific aircraft. Some carried RN colors.

I agree with Velto on the SKY and Extra Dark Sea Grey, for the Royal Navy. I don't have any documentation for the RCN, but weren't they all under the crown.....so very likely the same in many circumstances.

Not sure of the colour but these may help you for reference for markings.

Got to work 1 day & it was parked on our hard stand, along with a T28

These guys may be able to help, but most of their aircraft were seized by the Aus. Tax office 2 days ago for tax evasion.

Looks like the guy who bank rolled the whole thing, is off to the big house for a stay at the expense of the state, & has lost the lot, including all the warbirds, cars & an Extra .[&o]

Might be able to pick up a cheap 1:1 scale Yak 3 with almost zero HRs for nix

I have the colors matched to the full scale in latex. I can swab a couple of samples and mail to you for matching.

OK download the book on the Sea Fury from here:

http://rapidshare.de/files/17127857/...Fury.part1.rar

http://rapidshare.de/files/17128168/...Fury.part2.rar

Here are the instructions:

1. When you get there click on FREE
2. You will be taken to a new page.
3. Go down midway this page and you will see a countdown timer.
4. After this goes down to zero you will get 2 or 3 code numbers. Place them in the adjacent
box and hit enter.
5. Download the two files in the same folder.
6. You have to have WINRAR (downloadable too) to open the files. Files are in pdf format so
you have to Acrobat Reader too.
7. Sounds complicated but a very easy process.....enjoy

I thought you Sea Fury guys might be interested in this document. It may clear up the difference between the RN and RCN paint colours schemes of the Sea Fury. Seems a difference betwen the interpretation of the colour "Sky" resulted in the two different colours.
