Default Finishing a Skyshark Val Dive Bomber

Hello Warbird Enthusiasts, I need some good information. I want to fly this Val with the canopies glued open. I was wondering what would be a sure way of attachment that would insure the 3 piecies won't pull off during flights or should I leave the canopy in one piece and play it safe? Any help would be much appreciated. A.J. ([email protected])

Cadpink, interesting handle. Anything to do with CAD?
I think it can be done, I would stiffen up the canopy framework. If it is constantly flexing, the glue joint might fail. I have laid up small strips of fiberglass on the inside of the canopy frame before, with great success.

A good adhesive that will withstand the abuse is Zap a Dap A Goo (manufactured by Pacer).

Post some pictures! lets see that bird!

Good suggestion Mike. I took a couple of screen shots from PF of the Val with open and closed cockpits. Seems the rear gunner hatch is always open in the sim . But it's still a very close scale outlook of the plane in both canopy positions so you can decide.
I've seen thin strips of velco cut to shape throughout the framework of the sections hidden under the part that is opened. White velcro of course. Stayed on for many flights before having to replace it and no glue removal mess.

LOL !!!! Yup,,,, it is wonderful. What an easy way to see the small differances in certain fighters during their development stages from one series to the next.
Cadpink, can't wait to see the Val finished. They flew very nice in real life I've read. Have you thought of making the canopy a slider ? Or is it too much hassle ?
