That's a beautiful F4U! Man, I bet she flies great too. Care to share details? More photos? Gorgeous plane!

VMF-212, The Devil Cats, while in Korea. You can tell from the LD on the vertical stabilizer. Unfortunately I don't know what squadrons he was with during WW-II. Here are a couple more from the Korean War.

Does anyone know what the white lines that often apper in front of the cockpit of corsairs were for?

Do you mean like the ones on this picture?

If so, that is a tape/sealer that was used because of leaks in the fuel tank in the early versions. It was applied in the field and as such, there was a lot of variation in what it looked like from plane to plane and unit to unit.

That is exactly what i was asking about. thanks for the info. I have those decals to go on my new GSP corsair and did not want to put them on without knowing what the heck they were for.

Finally got a nice sunny/ warm/ calm day to take flight pictures of my AXI 4130/16 powered (electric motor), customized/ re-finished Hanger 9 Corsair ARF. I switched to a 2 blade Master Airscrew 14 x 6 for better effiency. Battery power remains 6 cells of LiPoly 3600mAh, which is getting me 12 minutes of reliable flight time.
My loving wife took about a dozen pictures this day. Unfortunately, the only one that turned out very clear and sharp was this one, which has the Corsair in a very un-natural, nose high attitude. This was just as I was powering up for a go around, as the wind gusts had me abort this landing. Oh well, I hope the sharpness of the picture at least partially compensate for my lapse in scale flying.

WOW, looks like RCU downsized the picture, so I'll try it again.

IT"S DONE[8D]

TF Corsair 60 Kit, Century jet retracts, Dummy engine, Cockpit kit purchased all for 240$ on RCU two and a half years ago.

RCV90 engine with Zinger 18x12 prop painted.

Finished with Nelson paint and Cajun R/C graphics to honor the F4U-1A of Lt. Frederick J. Streig, # 3 VF-17

I want to thank all the Corsair fanatics that I've met and have been inspired by. Starting back with Juice and Shupack then Dion and Corsairjock and several others. Friends all and I hope we can get these birds together.

Here is my corsair. It is a Top Flite Giant. Nothing too special here. Way too shiny. I'll be re-doing her soon with panel lines, two tone blue, and lots and lots of oil/exhaust/etc.

Goggles.

Nice Corsair. What kit is that. The cowl looks different. Shorter and nice cowl flaps.

That is a NWHT Corsair, scaled out. I made several mods to take the sport version out of it. With a ZDZ 40 it's fast.

Thanks for the compliment.

Hi Guy's
I may be wrong but it looks like a Byron. They are the only company that I have seen that gets the wing tips right.

Hello fellow corsair lovers....here's some pics of my gp 40 corsair, I modified the sides to look a little more scale, fiberglassed and painted. She comes in at 7# with a tower 46 for power and custom muffler exiting at near scale location. I am eagerly awating her maiden voyage, which should be within a couple of weeks.

Hi Forg:
I am on my second Byron Corsair at 1/5 scale. The first one I had was flown for 10 years and around 190 flights. She is still around and still flying. The new one I have has only 15 or so flights on her. One of the best flying planes I have ever owned. This is my new bird, I think you will know what it is
