Default don smith p-47

hey guy's i was about to get started on a zirolli 92 incher untill i found the don smith plans 122" but i've yet found what power it requires. i know it's going to cost alot more but i figure about the same amount of time so why not go all in on the big bird. will a q-100 be enough? thank's jeff.

The 400 is too much motor for this size bird. the 215 or 250 would be fine, but if the cost is an issue, go with a 150 twin, and if that is too much, go with a smaller plane.

IT HAS TO BE GAS! NO MORE GLOW FOR ME, WHO MAKES A 150 TWIN? I'M THINKING A Q-100 IS NOT GOING TO BE ENOUGH.

How could that be. The D. Smith cowl is 13" wide and 18+" top to bottom. Moki 215 or 250 diam. are only 11.22" The Moki 400 is 13.78" in diam. that would require some cowl mods. Thinking about the same kit with a Moki 250. What a sound.

I don't understand how this could be. I have a Comp-Arf p-47 with a Moki 250 and this plane is only a 110" wing span so it is smaller than the Don Smith one.

Yea, CARF P47 was designed around the Moki 250 so the larger D. Smith P47 should be ok for the M 250. By the way Dino DiGorgio from Meister Scale is getting ready to release a new 122" P47 in about a month. He told me it is being engineered for the M215 or 250. The smaller Meister 102" P47 is only large enough for the M150.
