Yes they are. They just updated their website. Try e-mailing them. I just ordered some parts for my corsair and one of my friends just got a canopy for his williams racer. It takes a little while but send an e-mail.
Hope this helps

I cant get through either, cant get them to respond to my e-mails about a part thats been paid for, and no parts![:@]
I was told they are working on some "goverment contract" thing, so they are busy!
sounds like R/C is secondary[&o]
good luck

I was told to just pay-pal them, so I did, 15 days ago[&o] even added money for express shipping, missed two great flying weekends so far and still no parts!
I did finally get a e-mail....had words in it like "oops" "my bad" and "get that right out"
Itll be that last time if I ever get this order!

Parts came in with a refund of my extra shipping money.....maybe it was just an "oops", oh well at least they're here.

Gee you'd think that someone willing to pony up the dinero for their kits would at least warant a reponse of some type. My best flying bud has been longing for that Corsair since it was still Byron. Maybe I'd better let him know in case they lose further interest in RC.

A local here has an original Byron T-28 kit. PM if interested. I believe he has the retracts too.

My Opinion,

Iron Bay is a JOKE. Excuse after Excuse if you can even get them to respond. It took me three months after ordering a sliding canopy for my TF Giant Corsair for it to finally get to me. I wouldn't send them a dime in advance. I think their Goverment Contract line of crap is about all used up. Well I vented and now I feel better. I sold the Canopy anyway and am trying to sell everything else that I had for the TF Giant Corsair. I decided to go all out and get Don Smith's 120" WS 1/4 scale F4U-1 Corsair. The kit should be cut and ready in about a month. I already have the Canopy and am just waiting for Don to get my check so he can ship the Cowling. STAY AWAY FROM IRON BAY!!![:@]

Ha! Iron Bay has ruined the Byron line of aircraft! They burned me on parts a couple of years ago. I never got the parts and I never got a refund. Screw them! I'll never do business with them again. You can't get a response by E-mail or by phone. If you do, consider yourself lucky!

It is a darn shame. Byron was a great company in its day. Mr. Godberson would be turning over in his grave if he knew what these SOB's did to his company. I even offered to buy the Byron line from them and provide customer service that Byron customers deserve... Their not interested. I even offered them 3 times what the tooling is worth. They are not interested in manufacturing the models. They are not interested in selling the Byron line. they are not interested in keeping customers happy. Why are they even bothering to try? Either do it, or sell it to someone who will keep the Byron line alive and prosperous[:@][:@][:@] Iron Bay=TOTAL JERKS!

The guy that bought Iron Bay has bought other companies like the George Miller line and several others. You will never see them again, he just buys them, makes a half hearted attempt at putting them on the market and then they disappear. His track record on this over the last 20 or so years is pretty consistent, the only way any of the stuff he has will ever be made available again is when he dies, but then the right person has to get the stuff. His other company was called Craig Aviation, same story as Iron Bay. I hear he’s a nice guy, but I think he has one of those packrat disorders, he just collects stuff for no reason at all. I had a neighbor like that one time, wonder if his house looks the same way, junk everywhere? Say goodbye people, let it go.

I'm glad you guys have had good luck with Iron Bay. I E-mailed them Wednesday to see if I could purchase the clear canopy for a Glasair. Once again, I have not heard anything from them.[&o]

WOW! I got a response Perhaps I have been a little harsh, maybe they aren't as bad as I have previously experienced[sm=redface.gif]
That makes me very happy![8D] Now I can finish my pet project[8D]

Hi Doug,

Yep, we have them. I try to stock most parts for most of the Byron kits at all times, even the old obsolete kits. The Glasair has three parts to its canopy as follows:

5931155 Front windshield $21.95

5931156 Right side window $19.75

5931157 Left side window $19.75

Domestic s&h $10.00. You can email your order to us, just make sure to include a complete name and shipping address. We accept Visa, Mastercard, or PayPal. If emailing your Credit Card info, most people break the number up into two separate emails for security purposes, include the expiration date as well.

If you want to do PayPal, we will send you an email invoice through them. You then respond to their invoice with your payment info on their secure server and they forward it to us. When we receive their response, we then enter the order.

Regards,

John
