Default Ali's Airworld 190 @TIGER!!!!

Hi All,

I have just picked up Ali's Airworld FW 190 for painting and adding all the scale bits.

The paint scheme is going to ba a mix of a winter camo and other scheme's,so no doubt we will get all the purist's coming on and syaing "you can't do that",this is Ali's choice and probaly allot of the 190's at the end of the war had all different parts added to them anyway, including P51 Drop Tanks!!!

The first job was to change the Retracts, the one's that are already in are just the standard one's,so we are going for Darrell's scale gear and wheels, http://www.sierragiant.com/
I think the most prominent feture of the 190 is the stance of the undercarriage.
So out with old and in with new, this took a bit work to get them in because of the 7" inflatable tyers,I had to remove the wheel well liner and reposition then glass back, sounds easy but does take some time. The result is so much better,I have attached some pics of the 190 with one old leg and wheel and one of Darrell's legs and "7 wheel's.

Cheers Graham.

Hi ALL,

Here are some pics of our strut covers that are stronger with the carbon toes through them.
Ali does not want it super scale but a small bit of detail the strut covers goes along way.

I have also attached a pic from our Hendon museum showing the fullsize strut,so the tyers I managed to source are are fairly close.

Cheers Graham.

Hi ALL,

While waiting on the glass to dry on the wheel well's I have started the Cockpit and Hatch for the two switches for the raidio.
This is one of our full cockpit kits and comes all weathered up,you have to add the floor and other small bits but all the main parts are there,so you could have it all in within a few hours of work.

Cheers Graham.

Hi ALi,

How are your bruises!!!!!

She wont belong and you will be back in the air,I have just been rubing her all back ready for painting,so I might have some colours on over the weekend,so will get some more pics up over the weekend.

Ali How is the Raider coming on??????I have just registered the xxl with the LMA,so now I have a waiting game with the inspectors.
Here are some pics from Duxford,I met my good friend Jasonp51d up there on Monday and we had a good look round this Butcher Bird.

Hi Tim,

I'm not 100% sure, but I will get Jasonp51d to tell us more, as he is the man to ask about all the Aircaft at Dux.

I have just finished off some more detail, and Ali I had to give you some MG's,so she's all ready for paint now.

Cheers Graham

I believe its a ME 109 "Buchon" (spelling unsure). Basically a Spanish built ME 109 with a Merlin engine. The Spanish Air Force supplied these as the ME109's in the movie "Battle of Britain".

Dear Sam
You are dead right regarding the Buchon.

Graham, I think you must have had too many wee drams
The V1 looks really good. Do you still have that 1/2 scale Spitfire
It would be ideal to shoot the V1 down with.

Hi Dave hope you are well - the Bearcat looks gorgeous - can we steal it it ot clone it???

The Duxford photos do show a Buchon (Hispano HA 1112) which is Me 109 built under liscense in Spain using a Merlin (ironic?). Most famous for their appearance in the film Battle of Britain.

The Buchon and the 190 (& a Hurricane & a spit) are all owned by Tom Blair and are at DX for maintenance and testing by ARCO before departing to Florida.

Can't wait to see the end result of Graham's magic on Ali's 190,

Best regards

Jason
