John, I can't load my pics here, some pics of me setting the CG here https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...5&postcount=64
I just eyeballed the CG from the Zirolli plans,,
Throws? I just eyeball that stuff,, but I will say, I didn't give it enough aileron throw for the first flight,, I maxed that out ,, if I fly it Sunday I'll measure the throws and take some pics for you

WOW, great thread full of beautiful models.
There's one thing that struck me looking through the beginningpages/original build posts was how wonderful the model looked in the raw, rubbed down primer/marked up stage: about post 170 - 180
The aircraft/model had very interesting patina, looked aged, really convincing IMO. We have one regularly airborne our local field, (I arranged a flight in it for wife on her 30th birthday
) so I've studied it closely and it has more in common with those images than it does with all the others.
Thats no a criticism in anyway shape of form, beautiful models, just an insight for you scale modellers.

Nice job,, I notice you had a bit of a cross wind too,,, that adds to the challenge,,, Congrats!!
What engine and prop combo there?,, that thing really came alive when you goosed it
I think I'm landing with a bit more flaps that you had there,, but we have a 900' runway,, makes landing a heavy easier

This field is only 300' long I believe, the paved section is 200'.
That was a half flap landing, next flight Ill get full flaps trimmed out and see if that helps, hope it does! Im still shaking a little. haha

Built my YA AT6 texan over the lockdown last year, it took a while to wait for the weather gods and the wind gods to sort themselves out and allow me to fly her, on the small strips we have in the UK. She flies very nice on recommended c of g and throws engine is Zenoah 62 (i wanted a radial but i got made redundant at work) and robart electric retracts that have been a massive PIA to get to work reliably. I was surprised how little down trim was required with full flap and actually how slow she would fly with full flap ! i think i am gonna love this bird !

finally over 10 posts so can now show you my bird, zenoah 62 ( was supposed to be a radial but covid killed my job) built during lockdown and she flies very nicely, had 6 flights so far and very surprised how slow she will fly with full flap.
