Default Vortac Bomb Release ?

Was wondering if any of you guys knew where I could find one of the Vortac bomb releases ? I am repairing a Jug and need one badly. I know Yellow makes something similiar, but it's a bit larger. If anybody is willing to check your junk box for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks-Mike Oberst

Mike,
only way to locate them now is to do a search on ebay, that is how I sourced my stock. I set up a filter to notify me when there was any listed.

cheers

If you find any of the Top Flite fuel tank kits that are designed for the Top Flite Gold Edition kits, they used the Vortac releasing system. Good Luck, Dave

the olds one used vortac, all the new ones use the formost release.

ebay is the best bet, I have picked up over 20 of them over the last couple of years and tucked them away for when I need them. Still see them from time to time

BVM sells one also. I'm not sure how the size compares to the vortec unit though.

Guys,
Have a question for all of you. There has always now and then been some interest in the Vortac bomb releases and bombs. My question to you is, Do you think there is a good market out there for these units and would you guys be interested if these units were brought back? I have a chance to buy everything that was used to manufactor these units from the orginal owner who is a friend of mine. It will take a lot of money to get started and if the market is not out there, it could be a lost. Your feelings??
I have some units that I purchased after he went out of business and I install them on all my warbirds. Kids and families will time to time come out to watch us fly but they always like it when I make a bomb drop. I do the drops for them, really I don't see the drops because I always keep my eye on the plane.

Other people have come up with releases that are similar to the Vortac units, but the bombs are unique. I would think there would be a market. All of the ARF warbirds out there could use them. The Vortac bombs are the coolest and my supply is getting a little worn out. They tend to break after 15 years of being dropped from models.

The split apart bombs were cool. I am installing the old Vortac units in my P-51.
