Hey Serge, was that a fun day or what? Not a contest but two friends checking out the different power systems. I only fly electrics and my buddy Serge was cool enough to invite me out to their field to run next to his plane. They looked like they were neck and neck. the gas plane will fly much longer, my electric only gets about a 5 to 6 min flight,so far. Still testing the 12 cells to see how long I can actualy fly. Anyway here are some photos of our birds. Talk with ya later Serge. Don Hofeldt the electric guy from Huntington Beach.

I'll be checking back into this universe any day now, stay tuned. From Bladerunner.

Oh, and to merlin I had a brain dead guy who assembled this ARF for me. You should have seen how many items I had to redo. Things like cold solder on the elevador rods, I gave it to him because he needed some extra cash,,,,, man what a mistake. I got it all fixed and flown but several things like the applied graphics in the wrong plance ect have got to be fixed.. But look at the brite side Evil Merlin, everyone knows what a complainer you are so this just give you something to complain about. What do you fly Evil? I would love to see what a perfect plane looks like. Look closed Evil I am sure their is something your missing you can whin about. If you were in my group of players you would have been slaped like a snitch a long time ago.

Really cool, now add one of the sound modules to it!!!!

I have been delving into the electrics slowly. The biggest thing I have is a 6s set up. That is pretty expensive in the battery area on its own. 12s=$ouch!!!

Hopefully the battery manufacturers will drop the prices soon so I can try some of the giant size setup like this one also!

Nice video. Looks like you guys were having a lot of fun! Nothing like flying warbirds together. Formation flying is hard to do!

With all due respect to electrics, I think I prefer the sound of the gas engine, but they are both nice planes!

You guys have a nice flying site. Which club is that?

Interesting vid'.
I think it would be great if it wasn't for that lousy rotten 50cc single cylinder noise.[&o] Which is about as far away from a (any!) real full sized petrol powered aero engine as you can get. No offence to the builder/flyer good model/bad sound, unfortunately.
At lease with electric, even though they're quiter, they present a FAR better prop sound more akin to a full size plane. So would the gass power version of course if you could hear the details over the god damned dreadful model engine sound. Last summer we'd had few a big BIG electric power choppers down the strip. Without doubt, frightingly realistic sound compare to big glow/gass screamers. And HEAPs more performance. FAI Scale helicopters are definately going in that direction. So will F4C it's just a matter of time/cost and availability of seriously geared engines able to drive the enormous props gasser can only dream of.
Judging by the din down the strip, that day can't come fast enough.

bla bla,, This is Don the electric P-51 owner. I take it you are somewhat into electrics? I take a lot of guff about the lack of sound coming from some of my planes but your right about the prop sound on this size of electric. Swinging a 21/12 prop you do indeed get the sound of prop pitch. When it is on the ground and on its way back to the pits you get that full prop sound coming off the ground. In the air it sounds like a real motor just not as loud. Anyway happy you enjoyed the clip all of your guys. It is a lot of fun flying warbirds together.

Hi Kurt, I have started removing the graphics. I think the Big Beautiful Doll will stay on but ALL of the stars and letters are 1/2 gone right now. Cool picture you did of my plane in the correct fashion. These stars are a pain to remove.
