I am trying to get some stencils made for a Hellcat and need a little help. I am getting a stencil made for the Hellcat "Cat Mouth" that goes on the cowl. My problem is I have no idea what size it needs to be. The plane is 1/8th scale. Does anyone have any info on the real one to scale down from or do I just measure my cowl and go with what looks decent?

Here's a scan of a decal sheet at various scales. Should be pretty easy to scale these up to whatever size you need.

Thanks for posting that decal sheet of the Hellcat cats mouth. Just one question, how do I know what size those are to convert them to 1/8th scale?

If you have a Skyshark kit it should be 1/9th scale. Skyshark has those decals for not only 1/9 scale but also for 1/8th, 1/7th, 1/6th, 1/5th, 1/4th, and 1/3rd. I attached the link if you want to check it out. The 1/9th is $12.95 while the 1/8th is $14.95.

I don't have the Skyshark kit but thanks for the link. I have those decals and I don't like them. Way to thick to wrap around the cowl and they are not correct, they don't go all the way around the front of the cowl.

ok. i gotcha. I thought you might be able to get the right size. then you can do what you need to. Gary at getsentcils.com is your man. He can do them up for you and his prices are really reasonalble and great service. I have gotten some from him and they worked great. good luck.
