KMP Spitfire w Gasser
Ok all you KMP Spitfire owners that have fitted a gasser into it...
Post some pictures and comments about your experience for the rest of us that are considering a similar configuration.
Thanks,
Jeff

RE: KMP Spitfire w Gasser
Not yet. So far the plan is to go with the 26cc from RCS. I think they call it the SV 26.
In fact, here is the link.

I would like to hear what others have to say about it.
Thanks,
Jeff

RE: KMP Spitfire w Gasser
Yes i did and it does not fit completely in cowl.
I did some search and like you know, the spit has norrow cowl and the only gasser that would fit could be the 26 CC Jen but at 325$ US without shipping and without muffler is to much pricy for me.

I don't care if the engine head sticks out the cowl and it's better for cooling anyway. At 219$ muffler included for the RCGF, you can't beat that.

RE: KMP Spitfire w Gasser
So the biggest problem is with the muffler? Did you get your engine yet? How is the fit?
You might try [link=http://www.jtecrc.com/]JTEC[/link] for a custom wrap around muffler. They advertize that they will build Custom mufflers. I think they are the same price as normal production mufflers.
Send some photos. I would love to see how everything fits.
Thanks,
Jeff

RE: KMP Spitfire w Gasser
Hello
When i bolted the engine and checked the CG , the Spitfire needed 1 pound in the nose to balance to the recommended CG??
I have to much project ongoing right now and i decided to pass this project to one my flying body (Mike Gravelle) and he is doing a great job.

Scoubidou's photos are the right colors. The KMP web site photos are either distorted or a prototype finish.

I'm looking forward to see how your engine fits. I chose the same engine but ended up using an OS 120 AX. I could not see any way to not cut into the side of the cowl. If you can get it to fit I might just modify mine. I'm using a 3500mAh SR battery for much of my nose weight.

I'll update you in the progress.
Good idea about the 3600ma Nicad pack. I wanted to use A123 1100mA but i'll keep it for my DA-100.

I know the originals did not have the invasion stripes because I almost bought one at a swap meet recently but the camo looked to be the same colors. Maybe there are other older versions.
