I take my hat off to you alan, a stunning repair ! I would love to know how you managed to blend it in that well.

Thanks John

Lots of high fill primer and hours of wet n dry sanding !

the new paint is more obvious in the flesh, but this will "blend in" as the piant fades off after some exposure to the sun a few wipe downs with cleaning fluids...ect.......(the pics were taken on my phone so not the greatest resolution)

Stay tuned for some more pics at the flying field

cheers

Alan

very true..........the "elixure of life" certainly dulls the pain of any repair job

Alan,

Fantastic job on the repairs mate!

Looks like I get to join you in the coverted halls of aircraft repairs after my Fw-190 tripped up on some long grass[&o]. must have been a hidden roo steamer in there somewhere!!

Thanks

Wow, Alan,

An amazing read from page one to 14! Truly inspiring!

Has all the Highs and Lows  - the tears of joy and pain... Fantastic modelling and repairs... She's a beaut in the air and on the ground

May I look you up at Carrum sometime? I want to start my Don Smith 1/4 scale Spitty but its a bit daunting..

Will be waiting for the Pheonix flight!

regards,

Matt

G'day Matt

If you can make to Parcs at Carrum look me up although I don't get as often as I used to due to a new addition to the family.
If you are local and need any help with your Spit build let me know, the Don Smith 1/4 Spit is a beauty !

Alan

G'day Matt
The Spit is finished and ready to go .........have some u/c repairs to finish on my Topflight 85" Jug and wing repiars to a 1/4 scale tiger moth (due to a mid air collision).......then back onto the 96" Vailley Tempest ..............and the 100" P51 so plenty to keep me occupied until the WX comes good again over the weekend.

I have 3 fairly large aircraft, the 81" spit, 1/3 scale pitts and a tubine powered f-16. It can be a struggle to store and transport these. How do you guys get on with the many huge warbirds that you mention ?

My goodnes alan, you`ve got it licked there mate. Yeah that would make life a lot easier !

You would think with me being a bricklayer i would build my way out of the problem. (just a lazy git i suppose )

That looks very much like a BVM bandit fusalage in the background ? (green fiberglass) ......After having a second look maybe an f-18 ?

Hello Al, good to hear that the spitty is finished.....again. Let me know when your going to be out at the field again and I will try to get down there. Your workshop looks good but is it nice and clean all the time or just when the camera is out.(lol) I have a 6x9 metre shed that used to look empty but now with an expanding family and limited storage indoors the shed is getting a bit cluttered. I have plenty of space for building but running out of space to store completed models. Anyway I will catch up soon at P.A.R.C.S , cheers Trent.
