Default BT Maltese Spitfire MKIX

i dusted off my BT spit kit last night. Got all my stuff for it Retracts, Motor, pilot and subject. I got the kit from Vic R/C so i would think this would go a bit faster then if i had to build up my fuse we will see. Below is a photo of the subject. This bird is at the Malta Aviation museum

Sweet. Mk IX is my favorite version. I have the Pica 1/6 scale (which is really not very scale, but it flies well.) Give us some details like size, engine, retracts, etc.

This spit will be powered by a DA 50, gear is from Sierra, and the control surfaces will have Hitec hs-5645mg servos. This is my first big spit i have build 2 topflite spits in the past.

Todd, looking great! That's one of my favorite Spit schemes. I've got one in the line to be built, so I'll be watching with interest. Keep up the great work.

Looking good Farmer, I'm building one also (wood kit) had to stop on it in mid summer, but hope to get back on it soon. It has a DL-50 mounted in it.
Kelly
BTW are the retract in yours Sierra?

Now you should be able to mark and cut things more accurately and in "style."

Great subject, this will be my next bird after my YA Spit. I'm interested on what needs to be done to the fuse to strengthen it (formers). Stay focused on the 25m target.

as you can see i have the firewall and the former that goes in front of the wing done. i figure i will need one at the back of the wing and one for the tail wheel. The fuse is nice and stiff Vic does a great job with the glass

Well the locks were full of ice on my trailer so I did some work on the spit. Got the wing sanded and the ailerons sealed up so it’s time to get on to fuse. And Pete made my pilot an instruction manual. The funny thing its real all the pages have photos and stuff on them. What do expect he’s German!

Hey Terry, I visited your website. Very nice.

Do you have a pic of the spitfire cockpit kit. I maybe getting in touch with you about some parts.

Your spitfire look great.
Later,
Kelly
