Hi All,
my name is Johann Schwöller. Hans is the nickname for Johann here in Austria. So my username contains both names because most of my friends call me Hans.
Sorry but I don't speak English very well. But I will do my very best.
With 30 years of experience building up models I am developing and producing large scale models in all composite technology, which not only incorporate a very high quality surface finish, but also well thought out construction up to the small details and also easy to maintain.
My first development for my company ScaleWings was the F7F-3 Tigercat. This model has been at the market for some years. Many of these kits are delivered to my customers all over the world and the modellers who built it up and the pilots who have flown this model are very enthused from this construction and the brilliant flight quality.
So later on I developed the Lavochkin La-7 in two sizes, in scale 1:4,5 with 218 cm (86 in.) wingspan and scale 1:3,5 with 280 cm (110 in.) wingspan. Since the beginning of 2008 I have produced this model airplane. A few additional accessories will come briefly.
At my website www.scalewings.com you can follow the development and the production of my models.
If you have any questions about the kits don’t hesitate to contact me. I will try to reply promptly.
Many thanks to Graham for starting this thread !
Best regards
Johann

Hi Hans, welcome to RCU
Hans I'm glad you dropped by to say hello,I do hope you are feeling a bit better.
Can you post up some pics of the new parts ,as the ones you sent me for some reason only come out small on here, I'm sure we would all like to see some close ups of your new Cockpit tub kit.
Hans, is there any updates on your P38!!!! you have got to put me down on the list for one, I'm sure the P38 is going to be another great seller,no other big scale kits about, I have a funny feeling you will sell a few over here. http://www.scalewings.com/flugzeuge/lightning_e.php

Hello Graham,
I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.... But, I've been working on my LA-7 like a crazy man.... LOL
I'm putting JR 8411 servos in mine with a Power Box to match all the surfaces up nicely!! I have a Duralite battery system dual 4300 and 2900 for the ignition.. The plane is going together nicely I've been working on my "German" with the instruction and I'm getting pretty good... LOL
For problems right now the gear doors on the struts have Steve and I some what scratching our heads?? It's not working like it shows it in the pictures.. Anyway, that's all I've seen otherwise it's an awesome airplane. I had it out at a warbird event yesterday and the plane drew a large amount of lookers and it's only in primer... Steve and I can't wait to have them finished sitting together at "Top Gun"... It should be a sweet site to see... I've attached a few pictures from the event for your viewing pleasure...

Here is a quick update on my La7.
I,m behind where I should be owing to time constraints, but have started painting and have now completed the basic under colours.
There is the basic steel/aluminium and the wood parts were initially painted in silver dope.
Hopefully tonight I will start on the blue underside
Hope you enjoy the pics
Steve

Hi Greg and Steve,
Yep sorry for the slow reply,I have also been working hard on the La 7.
Greg ,what are the probs with the doors and have you got them working???Hans did say that he was working on the mech for inner gear doors and also the sliding gear for the canopy,we might get some pics soon of the new parts.
Hi Steve she is coming on,did you get your test flight in on her???? and have you any up dates on the" C of G"
I have been testing out the Lesonal Platinum on the cowl, and I think it has came up very well,I did not want supper chrome on the cowl just the natural metal finish like my P38,the base coat colours were done in the same way as my 38, from blacks to aqua blues.
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_71..._1/key_/tm.htm
It sure would be great to join you guys for Top Gun, maybe you could persuade JC to come over with his metal La7,it would be rather cool seeing three La's sitting there.
Cheers Graham B.

hi Jetjockgb...... I am not sure but I think that if you want to get different shades of aluminum or other colors that you just use the first color as background color: BLACK, BLUE, AND GRAY "... for instance HOW HE USES THE FIRST ONE COLOR DARK COLOR AND THEN COME SECOND HAND FROM THE ALUMINUM, this will take 'a dark tone if you use a clear tone you get a light color ....

Hi Graham,

Did you find the unpainted scheme for the LA7? Arron (dremmelboy) said he has seen it, has it got blue markings on it?
Steve, did you get to go to Florida Jets?

Hi Dave,
Yes I was at FJ on the Thursday. It was really good and I enjoyed it.
Went to Perry to the annual swapmeet, came back witha 152inch Curtiss Jenny, a 1/3 scale Jungmeister in Swiis colours and a beautiful Emmeraude all framed out. Over 1200 stalls - puts the London swapmeet ina little corner !!!
The La7 progress has been slower than planned but still ok for TG2009.
Here are some shots of the initial painting with 2 colours now on and 2 more to apply and a clearcoat. I was going to fly it unpainted but the weather wasn,t 100% right so instead of wasting time I stripped it down to paint.
Just about to spray the light grey and will assemble while i,m waiting for the green/prussian blue to arrive
Best wishes
Steve

Hello Graham,
Here is my LA-7 update!!! I have all the linkages in and programmed with my Power Box. I fired up the new DA-150 this week and performed C.G. check. I had to add 3lbs. to the nose that is not bad at all with a pretty light engine bring her weight to 50lbs. She is ready for her first test flight!!
This coming week on a nice calm morning the mighty LA-7 is going to take to the skies!!! I'm pretty excited to see her fly!!! I can't wait to see her on a low high speed pass....... Should be a sweet sight!! I'll have one of my buddies take some pictures to post...
Cheers,
Greg

Hi Gregg,
Well best of luck for the Big Day and yes plenty of pics and maybe some vid would be nice, but the main thing is getting her in the air safe and sound.
Greg where did you balance her from, what position?? and Greg what throes have you put into the ailerons???
Once again, best of luck with the maiden, and I'm sure she is going to be great performer as she is a looker.
Cheers Graham B.

Almost there !!!
Just waiting for the last paint to arrive and then its detail time.
All looks good with mine weighing 46.9 lbs but have not done the final balance yet.
It will be next week before I fly mine but I wish Greg well with his test flight which he hopes to do this week.
Stencils will be with us shortly so can do the final paintjob

Graham,
I've had "NO" luck with the weather this week in Florida every day 15 - 20 with gust up to 25!! Not my cup of tea for a maiden... [&o] My CG is at 240mm right between the notices on the wing faring... Ailerons go up about 3/4" and down 1".. I ran the new DA-150 and it ran and sounds Great!!

Test flight were due today but didn,t take place as planned.
Did engine run and shook some things loose also did the final CG. We added no more tha a Pound to it which I was pretty pleased with.
Here are some pics from today.
Stell need to do the final painting and the clearcoat which is a must as the paint bubbled that came into contact with raw fuel.
WE might have an opportunity on Friday for the maidens if not Sunday.
Still got all the insignia and decals to put on but we are making good progress
Steve
PS Thanks to greg for his help today
