Hi,

Yes I had the very rare opportunity to fly off the shuttle runway. It was fantastic, its a very unusual surface and it has a camber on it.

Thanks to the guys who made it possible - I am greatful.

Had two sessions with the La7 and both were successful. I,ll measure the CG again and the control throws, It floats on and on in ground effect, so need to practice this for Top Gun.

Here are some pics of progress to date -still a fair bit to do but achievable.

Good luck to Greg who is test flying his on Friday

Thanks

Steve

Hello Graham,

What a "Great" day for a maiden!!! The LA-7 took to the ski today!!! All the work from X-Mass paid off today and it was awesome!!

First flight was uneventful.... I didn't have to add any trim on anything, not even a click!! I've never had a plane that didn't need a little something... I flew her for about 10 - 12 minutes the gear down, gear up, 1/2 and full flaps.. I made one approach then came back around and it just locked into a grove and made a picture perfect landing...

Second flight I opened her up and put her through her paces... She flew great!!

Thanks, to my crew Paul & Scott for all the help!! BTW Paul has video of the first flight and landing!! Scott has video of the second flight and landing... Here are a few pics from the field....

For the CG I'm right at 240MM.... I flew her inverted and she is a tade nose heavy but when I add the cockpit which weights 1lbs. it should be perfect... She flies like it's on rails....

Thanks, G....
