p-40- film
Anyone remember a movie where a damaged p-40 lands in the desert and is chased by a german tank. He had an antifreeze leak and could only hop off the ground. Kind of cool if anyone remembers the name thanks. Also there was a show with kids flying spitfires launching darts at opposing bad guys! any help would be appreciated. One more the flight crew of a commercial plane gets sick and a ex fighter pilot has to take control. One of the scence says the controls feel like a wet sponge compared to the fighter.
Thanks for any help\

I saw that movie about the P40 and the tank a LONG time ago. I can't help with the name but I thank you for the memory!
The one about the darts and Spitfires is unfamiliar to me however, I can peg the last one. It's "Airplane"! One of my all-time favorites. Leslie Nielsen at his finest. What a great comedy!

The last one was NOT Airplane, but the movie that Airplane was spoofing. I don't remember the name, but 'Striker" (played by Dana Andrews) was the warbird pilot, haunted by memories of his squadron following him into the ground, who didn't eat the rotten fish. Year of filming was probably late 40s to early 60s.

p-40- film
Hello. Not about P-40s, but I've been looking for one that I first saw maybe in the mid seventies. Cliff Robertson was an ATP with a big drinking problem. Only saw it the once, and can't remember the name. I think Cliff Robertson got blackballed for something and Hollywood dropped him and his movies like a hot rock........Dave
About P-40s: (from http://www.ihffilm.com/aviation-history.html LOTS of GREAT films here!!!)
"China Crisis" 1945 AAF film.
The Flight of the Phoenix was a good one.
Twelve O-Clock High was another good one.
The Waldo Pepper movie was a newer but good movie about the early days.

Spitfires shooting darts
I remember seeing this film, but unfortunately I can't remember the title. It probably came out in the 70's and was made in England. I think the plot was: a couple of kids (10 - 12 years) find out about some bad guys smuggling something by flying it across the channel in an R/C plane. So they get with this old modeler and work out a way to shoot a dart from the bottom of a couple of Spitfire models with an elastic band. The kids take off from gravel roads near the coast and manage to hit the bad guys plane causing a leak in the fuel tank. Hooray! We win again! Blast those meddling kids! Blah, blah, blah.
Kind of annoying when I think of how long it took me to acquire the skills to fly my Spitfire. Let alone be able to hit another plane with a dart! Oh well, I live in the real world.
Hope this helps...

More sources
the 1:1 history guys have these films listed
http://www.aerofiles.com/film.html
I have a bit of a running argument with them because they'll list the "airplane" comedies but they wont' list the "Airport" dramas.
Any one else notice that the airport producers let Dana Andrews and Efrem Zimblelist switch rolls from what they did in "the Crowed Sky"?

Hey I have the PM got and the address . Will sent out a check made out to you for 10.00 I thank you.
Tim
Working on my 1:5 scale p-47 with rotating langing lights, navs, sliding canopy . I hope all that wire doesent give me fits,
i am using a jomar door sequencer. all work well with engine off but plane is a long way away from firing up the g-46. Any hints on interference avoidance with long leads? Should the wire for the nav lights be twisted with servo leads or parallel.
Thanks
Tim
