Well dudes and dudettes I finally got to the stage where I got my vectors to jesse for the fuse and tailfeathers.
I got tired of waiting for someone to design an Emil so with some help and encouragement from Jeff Foley and Roy Vaillencourt I got my cad out and designed a set of plans. Anyone who has built from Nick Zirolis plans will be very familiar with these as I tried to design using the same method as it is very easy.
Mine is at 1/3.5 scale but I will have a set in 1/4 and 1/5th scale. After this prototype has been built and tested I will be marketing the plans through jesse. But for now just thought I would let you know this construction will be coming up soon so you can follow along.
Also my FW progress has begun again and am currently without a working cam need to get to the store tomorrow. but I will be installing the gear in the wings and sheet them. the fuses are on hold waiting an email from Roy on the formers. it seems the fuse formers for the sierra retracts are off a little.

Anyone tyhat knows me knows i am a scale freak. But to answer your question I was lucky enough to get s et of vectorized 3 views from Jeff that he was using to do his. I double checked them with my reference and it seems they are the 3 view drawings from Paul Matt series of which I have all 4 of his cds.
The 3 views were then blown up to scale and the outlines were used for lofting the fuse formers. the ribs and wingplan was drawn by my friend of mine his nick is SABRE and is from malta. he has Compufoil and that is my next investment. the program did full set of ribs with the feet which has the washout into them and it also drew the wingplan to scale and all i have to do is add my structural framing. Jeff had the naca foils marked on the 3 views which I suppose he was going to use and since he is MR Messerschmitt i used them airfoils. So this is basically a safe bet it will be a good flyer but since this is my first time trying to design a major plane and to scale I wanna make sure all the fuse formers etc give nice smooth surfaces. once i get it framed up and see that then i wont be so bad off.
you know how it is you do something and you always nervous til you can really see it then you slap yourself for being so worrysome.

Hi I'm new to all this stuff but I have a few questions. In your first post you mention that you "got your vectors" and in your next post you mention that you were lucky enough to get a set of "vectorized" three views.
My questions are, what is a vector?, does it have to do with AutoCad?, how do you make a normal drawing "vectorized"?, and/or is a normal drawing already "vectorized"? I want to learn to design my own models and have been reading up on the subject for a few years and I have never seen the term "vector" used as such. Thanks in advance'

Hi Jake a vector is in its basic laymans form a cad file. they are arcs curves splines nodes etc but basically it is just a cad version of a drawing. most pictures ie tiff files bitmaps jpg files are called raster images and cad files are called vector images. there are several ways to convert a raster to a vector and most are less than desireable results. the easiest way and best way is to import a raster image into a cad program and create a new layer and trace over the plans 3 views whatever which will create you a set of vectors of the image. you can then shrink or enlarge with no distortion. Also most lasers, cnc machines etc recognize the vectors and what they do is follow the lines which the cutter then duplicates

If my kit arrives in time maybe i can have the fuse skeleton done my our scale meet in Davenport, IA on the 22nd, i bet that would turn some heads sitting next to my hurri bones

Hurrimonster still there im waiting on Darrell to get me at least me tailfork but it waiting on retracts i will have to customize the wing for them so I cant sheet anything so there it sits in wait.

UPDATE
K heres an Update
1: Darrell called today and he just has to attach my Hurrimonster fork to the spring deedlemahoogy and should ship out next week.
2: Darrell has retracts for my big ME 109 they are the same ones he sells for the PCM 109 so I figure should work in the 1/5th and 1/4 scale too he just says he has to adjust the length of the struts and that they are bulletproof as usual and can handle up to 55 lbs of beast.
3: Jesse Shipped my fuse and tail parts today so i should be framing by mon or tues.
4: am working on a scale instrument panel which I will include on the plans and jesse in the shortkit.

Come on Joe, now I have to have you draw me up some plans! 
I wanted to get the PCM, but love to build. So, I am glad you are designing some really scale ME-109 plans. Hopefully my FW-190 kit will come from Jesse tomorrow. Cross my fingers. Now I will have two Jugs to build, and FW-190, and an ME-109. Whew!

fuse formers
well back to the ole drawing board and figure how i screwed up the lofting. the former widths were correct and look really nice with stringers on them but the bottom of the rear formers and the top of a couple of the rear formers are too short. man this is a nightmare lol but at least I will hopefully learn something from it.
I have 17 formers and a finpost so i can delete a few when I get going and the structure figured out. formers 1-11 look fine 12to the end the widths are fine but the tops and bottoms need redone. anyone good at lofting can give any tips or help could use it.

WooHoo Found the error. after slamming a couple beers and overlaying the parts on the side view I noticed that the crutch location was wrong on a couple fuse formers
